No photo because they've been thrown out.
They would be fine during the night under lights, but when put outside in the morning, I'd find them wilted. The stem reduced to nothing (just a brown 'string') at the base on the soil line. Seems like damping off to me, but only happened with the HHW, nothing else. Leaves and other parts of the stem are normal, roots look OK too.

I'm just wondering if they are more susceptible to fungus and damping off, and whether I should do something proactively with my other varieties of chillies.
My potting mix is treated with H. peroxide 2 days before use, and they dry out quickly either under the MH lamp or outside in the wind and sunlight.

edit: If I'm nuking the soil/potting mix to stop the bad guys, and I'm just planting in pots, I really would like to find a source for some rhizobacteria or something.
I know people here have mentioned a mycorr inocculant is the US, anyone seen something similar here?

Link to read in the morning I guess (when all nice and sober, clear thinking etc - PDF download though)

Here are a few examples Pablo. There are heaps available

Example 1

I have used this one with great results

Another Example

Smart Garden products are awesome I think I have used them for a few years now and they are just solid quality products (when I bought them they were called Alaska Pure, Ocean Mist and some other different names which are now the names of the Nutifield Hydro products)

I'm back... God I hate share-housing.

Anyways.... some of my seeds in my second planter just will not come up!!! ARGHHH. It's been a month and I have about 10 of 200+ My Brains Strains & Yellow 7's have started to pop and they were planted wayyyyy later. It's driving me crazy it is! They're all in the same environment. I think i'll start them all in paper towel next time so it's not such a painful wait.
Regardless, all my graduates of the tank are doing well :)

Hope you're alllllll good!

Join the club I haven't had any of my last 2 lots of seed come up its been 20 + days for some

 It's frustrating init

I had a gentle look around a couple of the aforementioned jiffys, and excepting one, they all seem to full of swelling seeds so I guess I'll just have to wait... Patience isn't one of my more prominent qualities it seems. I wish they germ'd as quickly as my 'matoes! 4 days.... 18/20 lol

were your brain strains and yellow 7s bought recently from PRF?
If so, it's not just you, those things germinated fast for me, faster than the rest of my AU stock super hots.

I was germinating basil in 22hrs FFS, even the capsicums I germinated are 3 time the size of the chillies!
Why do chillies have to be so slow at everything?

Never mind, just think of the cacti, even slower or harder to germinate, and slower at growing.

Yeah, I love watching my cacti grow, slow though it is. I'm not very good at germ'ing them though.
My BS & Y7's were from PRF, I haven't put in the chocolate scorps yet... But I'm guessing it'll be much the same.
I'm a little worried some of the other purchases might have been a little old, or not stored well... Whereas obviously the stuff from Cappy was fresh from just a couple of months ago, at most.
Oh well, we shall see.

Yeah, said the same myself on the last page, http://www.thehotpepper.com/topic/21897-winter-in-oz-comparison/page__view__findpost__p__497802 Seems like fresher stock is the ticket on the future.

Freshly harvested stock always germinates faster, so buying from the US can have its advantages as when their season is producing fruit we are sowing.
The capsicums will obviously germinate a lot faster because they are annuums. Superhots are chinenses and they take the longest to germinate and grow, so its always best to start the chinenses first as they need that long growing season. It's unfortunate.

BTW the seeds I sowed in seed raising mix germinated a lot faster than the jiffys this time, even though they were from the same seed stock.
It's funny cos last time I was having germination within a few days in the jiffys...weird

Oddly enough though Candice, I've had way more chinenses come up than I have anuums, frutescens & baccatums.
They are in slightly different jiffys though (some are in brand name, some are ebay), so perhaps the medium density or something is the issue..?

Well I have had enough of Jiffy's full stop I am simply going to be using a coir-peat/dust brick flushed well and placed in my own molds from now on.
I think the jiffy pellets I have been using lately seem too dense and not aerated enough.
Maybe its a bad few batches from bunnings which has been an issue??

I also think that the time is fast coming where I am going to need to leave the lid off my propagator during the day as the air temps outside are getting up to 25-26 during the day now and only dropping to 12-13 at night here in the Gold Coast/Brisbane

I am going to be pulling my Jiffy Pellets which haven't sprouted yet outof the propagator and simply letting the natural air temps at them to see how they go at breaking dormancy

Anyone looking for cheap grow bags should check this out.

Nice work there Nova!!!

Interesting how some people are having trouble with the Jiffy Pellets now. I have never had much luck with them from the beginning.
Maybe like everything else, different brands etc you can get slightly different product?

Hey I assume you guys sent PRF a request for some seeds? His post talks about sending pods but our Aussie customs wouldn't allow that? Just would like to grow some of his varieties.

Micca

He was selling BS's, Y7's & Choc scorps in a deal but I think he might be out. It's probably worth asking him though.
I wouldn't count on customs allowing fresh pods through, but hey my Superchili seeds just got confiscated so i think it comes down to luck really.

I plan on starting new crops of jolokia over winter so when spring comes,
thier will be hundreds of pods.
as well as red savinas.

and hopefully some butch scorps.

Rara it has part to do with luck part to do if the inspector got lucky the night before.
We arr allowed to import chilli seeds and the idiots that don't know thier job at customs need a swift kick in thier manginas.
