Yeah, It's Snowing

I love to watch it snow as it is doing right now, its not laying yet but it looks nice ( sorry Sick). I remember as a kid how my buddies and I would walk to school or hop on someones car bumper an be dragged down the street . I find it totally pathetic these days as they close schools now at the mere mention of snow. This is the first time in a long time that we have had snow ( in Baltimore ) before Thanksgiving, I especially love the scene of old European architecture laden with snow. During one trip to Norway I drove up to Trondhiem in March an there was snow galore. thats all

When i was a kid, the only way they'd close school for snow was if the superintendant couldn't get out of his driveway. My older brother's friend worked for the public works dept. and we'd pool a bunch of money to pay off to him to plow all the snow on the school superintendant's street into his driveway and block his car in.

Hahahaha, that sounds like a smart move!!!!

It's supposed to snow here (heavily) tonight or tomorrow, let's see....

I've just been handed a letter by connor , 'What to do if it snows and the school closes'.

Examples on the letter are:

Please tell your children they must go straight home and not go elsewhere.

Ensure your mobile phone is charged and switched on.

Do not respond to mobile phone messages from your children saying the school is closing unless you have checked with the school.

Do not take your child from the school premises unless you have been informed of closure.

Do not take anyone else's child off the premises.

Ensure that your child comes to school with a warm coat.

They forgot to add,

You might have managed for twelve plus years so far but we know that you parents are as thick as pig sh*t so we just thought we'd patronise you.

Ha! As if any "naughty" kid would hand their parents this letter! They'd just dump it and go home and say "School's closed for the rest of the week, mommy!" (with a sad face).

I got the letter though and he's really sneaky, I normally have to pick 3 week old ones out from the bottom of his bag. I probably only got it because he saw the words "School closure" in the title.
I must admit he never took a coat today and it was p*ssing it down this afternoon.

* Must learn to be a better mother but what the heck, it's Friday, I'll try my best another day *

Easyyyy, you might as well make this your good intention for 2009!

Seriously, I'm sure you're a great mother. If everything fails, your son will grow up listening to great music! :)

Typical government, ensure your child has warm coat, like you need the government for that info. they use kind of retoric to justify there existance. You should send a letter back to the author and let them know that you will be nominating them for the Nobel Peace Prize....

Winter is my favorite time of the year (despite having a car with no heat...which will be recified at next paycheck). I remember being a kid and watching the snow fall in Cleveland. Putting on my snow stuff, walking outside and watching it fall, all the while trying to spot all the fractal shapes it took. There's something magical about that....

Or maybe just nominate them to be the next super-hero:

last year they closed my university three times on account of snow, because the plows were getting stuck. of course toronto will never live down calling in the army over a snow day... I live in denial every year that i'll be snowshovelling again until i wake up one morning and theres four inches of snow staring me in the face. at least i haven't broken a shovel yet...

In some areas there already is snow. Here at Lake Constance we only had heavy wind since yesterday.

Those teachers are SO IMPORTANT! Physicians say: Teacher is not a profession. It's a diagnosis... Well, there are good ones too. Admitted.

A beautiful white winter..by Beautifully Scarred n Broken.

Tiny little glass snowflakes,
Fall upon the cold ground,
Its winters time to wake,
Coldness gathering all around,

Spiraling downward from the sky,
Like little individual falling tears,
Making their journey from so high,
The awakening so very near,

Trees shed their bright orange leaves,
Flowers wilt and die away,
Its beautiful cold threaded weaves,
Down on the ground, winter lays,

Clouds of icy breath fog the street,
Pouring down cold slippery rain,
Echoing down on me so sweet,
Special little snowflakes, never the same,

A wonderful, beautiful season,
Beauty hidden deep under the snow,
It's my favorite time of year, I need no reason,
It's just a beautiful white winter, that I know.

We got two inches here today. Weatherman predicted flurries. They don't know sh*t. I heard it is the biggest snow here in November in many years. Not a good sign for the winter ahead.

Oh... Now it snows here too. Now I'm glad to have my ice scraper. It has the logo of the Snook Inn, Marco Island, FL!

I've been there several times...I lived in Goodland for 4 years...

I can't stand the snow. Sorry to all you snow lovers. Don't get me wrong...I enjoy a magical wonderland, but its beauty disappears in a day and you are left with inconvenient piles of dirty debris filled ice. I'm a glass half full type of guy can you tell? Hahaha
