What exactly is this 'clumping' technique that I've heard of then? Isn't it just planting more plants in the same pot? I've heard it can produce really strong and productive plants.

I think you should tackle this the same way you would any pepper pest problem. For instance, for aphids, you would get ladybugs. As such, for mice, I would get a snake, maybe a nice python.

How do you germinate tomato seeds? Can you do it the same way as you do chili seeds? I germinate my chilis in a plastic tub with cotton wool on the bottom and let them grow cotyledons before transplanting them - will that work for tomatoes as well?
