correct, they are 3 gallon grow bags, i found them to be a lot more convenient than pots. Pam, I havent been able to pick any ripe Tobago Seasoning pods yet. I think I am about a month away from having any ripe ones so I will let you know what I think of them in a months time. Cheers, Greg

where to buy ladybug/ladybird beetles in Canada?

Yes they are indoor plants. They are contained in a 4' wide, by 2'deep, by 6 foot high grow cabinet with an intake fan and an exhaust fan for air circulation. I plan on releasing maybe 50 of them into the cabinet, and then releasing the majority of them on my outdoor plants. I also ordered...

where to buy ladybug/ladybird beetles in Canada?

I just discovered that my indoor plants have a bunch of aphids running around. I would like to take care of this problem with some predator ladybugs/ladybird beetles, except i cant seem to find any retailers in Canada. Does anyone know of any?

    pics New Pics (Outside)

Hi everyone, Well, my $1 vinyl shower curtain and $1 bamboo sticks have seemed to do the trick..no more sun damage. Anyways, I have attached a few pics of half of my plants that I put outside two weeks ago this Saturday. They are still close together because I am slowly getting them used to...

    Hardening off question

Okay, I put about half of my peppers out on Saturday, I checked them an hour ago and noticed about 5 or 6 plants had some sunburnt leaves. Maybe out of laziness or maybe because of foolishly thinking that the sun isnt as strong in Canada, I didnt put up the white sheet or cheesecloth like I...

    Hardening off question

Arrows, now thats a cool idea. Recycling at its best. I have decided to stake the lankier peppers with some 3/8" wooden dowels I bought from the store. the short squat varieties had really thick stems so I am not too worried about them falling over. I am also keeping an eye on the leaves for...

    Updated Hab Variety Pics

I wish I was in the big Jim competition however I found out about it a few days after it was closed to new entrants. I have two pods so far on my big Jim. I hand pollinated the biggest and earliest flowers and I have been pumping the organic nutrients to it since flowerset. I am interested in...

    Hardening off question

Thanks for the responses, Chilehunter, The plants from the other post will be staying inside under my 430 watt HPS for the summer. The plants that I am putting outside have been under fluorescents for 2 months and I have an 18 inch fan blowing on high 24 hrs a day. I alternate which plant...

    Hardening off question

Hi everyone, I am going to be putting my 50+ plants outside sometime this week or weekend. I am waiting for an overcast day as to minimize the effects of them receiving too much sun. I am also planning on stringing up a cheesecloth or a white sheet as shade. I am way too lazy to bring in 50...

seeds Question about sprouting fresh seed

Hi, I came across what I believe to be a Chiltepin plant in the greenhouse at school. I figured no one would mind if I picked off one ripe pod and collected the seeds from it so I cut open a pod and collected one little seed. Then, i decided to foolishly chew the pod which turned out to be...

    Updated Hab Variety Pics

Thanks for the comments everyone. I really like using the grow bags too. I purchased them locally in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The are relatively cheap, I'd say about half the price of the equivalent plastic container ( i paid 49 cents for each 3 gallon bag). I like them because you can...
