Appreciate your help! Am in the states, Washington DC area. Have a couple habs, serrano and jalapenos. Only is happening to the habs, and mostly to the limo. A couple of spots on my other hab, but nothing compared to that one. Once it starts it seems to take a week or. It seems to worsen...

Not a bug, that is how it starts, with that small brown spot, then it grows

If so, do you know how to stop or prevent? Have heard of it but don't know what causes or how to fix. I will do some looking....thanks

I checked one yesterday for maggots based on a suggestion from AJ and didn't see any.

Here are some pics of the problems my hab plant (limo) is having. You can see the progression, it starts small and only seems to appear when they start to ripen, not before. My other hab (red globe) in the same earthbox does not appear to have this problem, different variety and just starting...

Nice! Congrats on the harvest. Pickle them, double bag to freeze, jalop poppers, make a powder or jalop flakes.

They are in an earth box so soil is always moist, but shouldn't be overwater i wouldn't think. If it was overwater I would have thought most of the pods would be affected, not just a handful. I occasionally see bugs - don't know what they are - but there are never very many of them. Makes me...

I think it is squirrels because they are crazy. They have eaten a hole in my city issued thick plastic garbage pale and go in there for food (waiting on replacement), they have jumped on my windows repeatedly, and during easter time when we hide eggs for the kids they break through the plastic...
