overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

After 3 years of unsuccessfully trying to get rid of the $^(&*&^%# whiteflies (and their friend, the broad mite) that have decimated my plants, I think I've finally found something from Bunnings that actually works.   http://resolva.com.au/products/resolva-liquid-concentrate-bug-killer   Had...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Yeah, it got to 39 here today (not far from Richmond), and tomorrow sounds like it going to be a shocker with the heat and following storm. I pulled my last 5 plants (Padron, Jalapeno, Aji Lemon, Fatali and Bhut) inside. From the way things are shaping up for this summer, I might just take...

    human urine for fertiliser

It's supposed to be great for citrus trees. Is it good to urinate on Citrus Trees? Maria, QLD It’s amazing. If you go all the way around a citrus tree, whether it’s a lemon tree or an orange tree, urine is quite high in nitrogen and citrus trees love a high nitrogen fertiliser...

Trippas Organic story of 2012/2013....things could be worse ...

I wonder if we could import this (or something similar) ourselves.... On the AQIS database: Condition C5411 Non-Commercial 1. The conditions under the Commercial section apply. Commercial 1. An Import Permit is not required for organic chemicals of plant or...

Trippas Organic story of 2012/2013....things could be worse ...

Very nice photo's and pods Trippa. Here's something that may be another weapon in organic control (if we can get it in Australia): http://www.arbico-or...rden-greenhouse It's active ingredient is "Sucrose Octanoate Esters", which breaks down in to sugar and water. It supposedly has no...

Trippas Organic story of 2012/2013....things could be worse ...

Mate, I feel your pain (having been wiped out by whitefly and broadmite last year.....and shaping up for the same again this year). All we can do is try, and experiment. I'm sure one day soon we'll find the silver bullet against ^&$%^#^$&%^ broadmite.

    Gassy's 2012/2013 Glog thingy

Please be sure to let us know how Montdorensis goes. Whitefly has been savage in North-Western Sydney..........never had this problem when living in Esk several years ago.

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Yeah, the main thing for me is that there are great chilli's that can be grown, but just not available at the local fruit/veg shop. The f**kers definitely seem to be all but unstoppable. Good point on rotating poisons and you're right about keeping up the applications.......it's hard to trust...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

I know how you feel after losing all mine early this year to #$%&^*(*(^&^$# broad mites. Things I tried that didn't work: White Oil, Neem, Pyrethrin, Confidor, Mavrik, Garlic/Chilli/Soap spray. About a month ago I started seeing the cursed whiteflies hanging around and have been drenching my...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

I don't know where to find Steinernema, but used Sciarid Kill (from http://www.nutriflo.com.au/Hydroponics-Shop/Pests%20&%20Diseases/Pesticides ) and a few yellow sticky traps to wipe out a very bad Fungus Gnat problem I had. Only took 2 drenches (about a week apart) and then around a week...

Crazy price for a chilli plant?

Yeah...true. Some of the descriptions I've seen for chilli seeds etc certainly do seem to be complete bs. Wonder if its worth starting a thread for the most ridiculous and crazy bs ebay chilli/pepper listings...... Edit: Like this seems to be...

Crazy price for a chilli plant?

Lol I think some of the bidders probably think they're sitting on a potential goldmine, seeing how much Bhut seeds sell for on ebay sometimes. The seller has sold 25 Bhut seeds for up to $15 (edit: wow...make that $21) in the past. I guess if people are stupid enough to bid and pay that for...

Crazy price for a chilli plant?

Hi from not so sunny Sydney

That is unfortunate. Hopefully they weren't large productive ones. I did a similar thing to a young lemon tree with a homemade concoction (that I'll never use again). Finger limes are awesome. The way the vesicles burst from the fruit when cut and the zingy flavour of them. Hopefully I'll get a...

    Chilli ID

Yes, I think "Dang" and "Feng" are hybrids bought out by different companies. I originally did a search for 砀椒 (Dang pepper) that found the first photo in the 3rd post. Thanks for helping with this. My wife is going to try ordering some to be sent to one of her family in China, who'll forward...

    Chilli ID

I can believe that, there seems to be a few different types that look similar. I'm guessing this Chinese type might be an Annuum?? In China it seems to be referred to as "thin skinned green chilli/pepper" or "tiger skin green chilli/pepper". I did a search on Taobao for 薄皮青椒种子 and got a page...

Thanks for that. I was thinking of asking in the Whirlpool, but the chilli thread seems to have died over there.

Thanks for trying Pablo_h, it's got me stumped as well. The closest I could find to that shape was a Agronaldo De Asti, but don't know anything about the size, heat or flavour of these. Edit: If I end up finding them, I'll try to send you some seeds. I'll see if I can order some from China.
