DC-style in ma hood 2nite, yo ...

kicked off turkey time w/ aeropress w/ a healthy dose of bailey's ...

D made some chocolate and peanut butter ice cream ...

which we used half of along w/ 3 eggs, a cup of water, and a box of cake mix to make my preferred ice-cream-based cake ...

iced up, moist cake ...

D ate the leg last night ...

today we started early drinking cake shots early and made a pie ...

we're supposed to be making pasta and clam sauce, and starting off ribs in the sous vide ...

BUT ...

we ended up continuing to enjoy cake shots ...

and she's eating leftover slices, and i'm clearly having sweet sue from the can (kicked up w/ some salted and torched cherry hots and a ton of BP) ...

w/ some homemade strawberry soda ...

it was quite tasty, and I have been meaning to try kicking up canned chicken and dumplings for some time ...

maybe i'll drop those ribs tomorrow ... maybe ...

for now ... since it's 48F or some shit ... something seasonal ...

expecting a mod for the bot, too ... more on that later ...

my black friday was pretty tame so that i can better utilize the ~50-60% off on programming texts for cyber monday most of the publishers have each year ...

but, i did buy a 'mod' for the 'bot ... waffle plates ...

and i bought some waffle mix on amazon because it was rated really well, so ...

is going down because we bought some fried chicken while grocery shopping earlier ...

in case you are wondering, yes, i did ... drizzled w/ honey, mustard, butter, and hot pepper jelly ...

they approve ...

i thought i'd share too, that if you have Amazon Prime, there's a Lodge CI 'set' that tempted us for a number of months ...

since we lacked a CI frying pan, this seemed like a really useful pair for braising and since the top and bottom are meant to fit together, they do so perfectly ...

seriously, for $30 shipped, can you go wrong for two pieces of CI? ... nice to get to buy something made in the USA, too =) ...

the el cheapo stone from Publix is doing a fine job, so getting tangled up in that easy-off nightmare is unlikely to occur until the stone cracks =)

the need to watch calories and the cooler weather has allowed me to return to spicy sesame crystal noodle for lunch at work ... it's bizarre how much i like bean thread noodles ...

it's bizarre how much i like bean thread noodles, and w/ added thai chili powder, i REALLY like them ...

meatloaf is joining the turkey breast in the regular routine, made 50/50 (ground turkey/beef) it's pretty healthy on 100 cal fold-its ... celery and cherry hot peppers ftw!

our experience has been that larger meatloaf is less dry, ymmv ...

such simple to reheat snack ...

sometimes, sriracha style ...

had more waffles from the bot ... w/ raspberry ihop-like syrup (D's choice, not mine) ...

and made ribs twice, first beef spare's seasoned w/ smoked ghost pepper ...

and then pork (w/ same seasoning) ...

Been eating some killer stuff of late, but since I received some hot powders from JHP and I'm cramming all of my eating for the day into dinner tonight - decided to try three of them in one go tonight ...

D cooked up some brats w/ sweaty purple onions and mini-bells in the lodge ...

I got out some fixins, unsure how to proceed ...

I decided to go w/ hot pepper jelly and a generous dusting of JHP's 2012 super hot blend ... it was tangy and good.

down the hatch ...

followed up w/ naga morich powder ... gritty and hot.

and then, just because it was there to be had, i put away one w/ the chiltepin amarillo (since i grow those myself and love them fresh) ... also good, but my palette was pretty destroyed by this point if I'm being honest ...

as it turns out, i didn't need any sriracha OR the leftover chipotle dressing ... way to go JHP!

I got totally hung up with Hot Pepper Jelly and Brats!

I spent like 4 seconds thinking about that combo, and then it became a part my existence!
I soooo have to make that happen right now.......Okay, maybe tomorrow......but it's so happening!

It's fast become the most used appliance ... simple to use, simple to clean, and the drop-in 'elements' make it pretty versatile ...

you can run it closed, or open face it and use both sides w/ the griddle plate sides up ...

AND ... w/ the waffle plates in, well, you know ... WAFFLES!
