P-Son's "mild to wild" Manscaping prohibited!!

After a couple nudging pm's it is time to get things rolling...well, get a list situated atleast. I won't be starting my seeds until March 1 this season. This list is subject to change, and I'm betting it will before I'm done typing. My two goals this season are 1.) Take less pics and better quality 2.)Sow later and achieve similar yields. My germination techniques and set up are not inspirational or extravagant so the bulk of my updates will be after early june plant out. Fert apllication and medium are changing a tiny bit but staying simple with it.

c lanceolatum.... Holy Grail stuff!!! After 47 days I sowed my last couple seeds in a last ditch effort. 9 or 10 days later and this guy hooks. I'm over the moon...that is until I see the seed hull hanging on. Really?? So what do you do when only 1 sprouts out of your 7 seeds and it has a helmet head? Surgery ensued! I weaseled the pinhead sized casing off and everything looked nice and green but in a few hours it started looking rough. Fingers crossed for now. Excuse the cell phone picture here.

Wow, is that peach scorpion ever loaded up! I think I developing pepper envy looking at it.

The mouse pepper picture cracked me up :) I'm going to show it to my daughter tomorrow, I'm sure she'll get a huge kick out of it.

It is prolific for sure. Starting to pod up on the outer branches after the initial inner explosion. Hope the mouse pic puts a smile on her face!

4 more inches of rain and a tornado and escaped with only one snapped branch...pheeew I have 4 plants producing ripe pods finally. It should be a few weeks before I start getting and significant numbers.

Jay's Ghost Scorpion Red. Curious to know if anyone elses is bushing up like mine? I have the peach version in a large container and it has the same habit. They both have the serated style Indian leaves.

Can't beat what you get from the rain no matter how much ya get in one spell. Your plants will be solid producers through the end of the season.
Badass looking not Yellow Infinity's.
What do the pods look like on the Twisted Hab...
Footprints in the soil......invisible man lurking around ?

It is amazing what the rain does! Sometimes it can be rough on the container plants, but my ingrounders love it. I have watered them once, and that was at first transplant.

You got me on the footprints!!! haha.... I slipped up there. Cleaned up all the dirt splashed on the lower leaves and got everything raked up and weeded. The sun went behind some clouds and I scurried to get a couple good shots before it came back. Missed a couple prints...drats! I would have guessed you would be the one to pick up on that. Your perception is legendary... one of a hundred endearing qualities!

I have a couple pics of the choco hab I will try to get posted. I was meaning to mention in your glog that the one you showed looked a bit off.

+1 on the rain comments, watering just doesn't compete.

Plants look lush and super healthy, as said earlier they are going to be heavy producers...well heck they are already!

Wonderful work you're doing there!

Looking great - loving the pods! That Bahamian Goat should taste nice. And the Not Infinity yellow looks like a mean pepper - perhaps a taste video?

Damn John, had to do quite a bit of catching up.  I don't know how this slipped through my normal reading que, but I promise it won't happen again!  You have a ton of great varieties and your photos are awesome!  That Peach TS is putting out a TON of pods, it is crazy!  I have some seeds in my stock that I will definitely be starting next season after seeing how yours are loading up!

Gonna defintely pin this to my reading pane, can't wait to see some great harvest and pod shots!

Thanks guys. Dev,you are correct about the rain. Nobody can compete with the big "G" when it come to gardening.

Noah,my rake rules! It is probably 35+ years old and has the sharp tines.

Andy,I will be tasting more Goats this evening,I let these ones get alittle riper. No videos from me!

Matt, glad you enjoyed your visit,I will get some pics of the peach TS up tonight maybe.

Time for some pod porn. Not as happy with production compared to last season, but everything I am growing this season seems to be growing true, that is a huge plus. Last season there were a lot of "Nots" and a goal of mine is to keep that from happening in the future. I have about 20 plants that I am isolating branches on and hope to get around to doing the rest very soon.

With the MLB all-star game in New York I thought I would show off the "Little Apple". Here is a Rocopica. You can't tell from the pic but it looks like an apple.

Bhut Jolokia Indian Carbon finally! They don't have that "musky" scent and flavor that a lot of chinense do.

Red Brain,I had some ripe ones to show off but some critter trashed them.

Whoohooo! Holy Shizzle your garden is doing great. I'm going to concur that your photog skills are awesome. Love that mouse pepper..haha, is that a real type of pepper or just a random happening?

That BrainStrain and Indian Carbon look oh so mean. You're going to have some awesome harvest brother. KUTGF

Thank you

Orange Primo... I'm leaning towards yellow scorpion. They go bright yellow, then turn a dark yellow when fully ripe.
DSCN5486.jpg

Not Black Naga Spiky Red Cross from Chris. These things are awesome. My goal is to get a plant that will set pods like this regularly.
DSCN5483.jpg

I am dying to start popping frutescens, great snackers.
DSCN5494.jpg

Manzano still pumping flowers and setting pods daily. It has been super hot but they don't seem to mind. This plant has 50+ pods not including all these little ones.
DSCN5477.jpg

Galapagoense setting pids daily as well.
DSCN5470.jpg

Mata Frade changing orange before finally going red. Mild heat and chinense flavor.

Greg, here are the Choco Habs you asked about.

C.eximium almost done cooking.

I will try and get more up later tonight.

What is the source of the "NOT" Orange Primo?  I saw that yours and Jamie's look pretty much identical.  The Yellow TS that I have grown are typically much more blocky, and the ButchTs are more like the ones you got...  Interesting nonetheless.

Is it weird that I check here every day for a Mata Frade pic?! Perfectly normal, right...

No, it is weird when you dream about it....like I did last night. Talk about a "wake-up" call....

Not Black Naga and Douglah x Indian Carbon cross look real nice.  Congrats on the C. galapagoense too, looks like a very healthy plant.

I have a couple of surprise crosses that are looking real badass, and it seems like a good number of people around here do as well.  I keep thinking about the viability of referring to the original crosses when things keep getting so mixed up...
