PaulS Glog MMXV - Plant Outs :)

It's finally time to start the 2015 season :)

It's my first time doing a season glog but it's my sixth year growing chillies. I've learnt so much from reading this website and the knowledgeable people on it. The last couple of years have been pretty successful, so hopefully this year will be the best year yet.

My grow list.

I'm growing nothing that I've grown before so it should all be a nice surprise.

Thanks Dudes!
I couldn't help do a timelapse for those few days, it will be much more interesting when it's over the space of weeks. :)
Can't wait to see that video!

A small update.
Here is a time lapse of the first four days of my chillies in that tent.
If you've never seen a time lapse of your chillies growing it is pretty interesting how much they move around especially when the light turns on and off. The camera is set to take a photo every four minutes and the video plays back at thirty frames per second.

Wow!  That's a stunner!!  Looks like they're missing their beloved light.

You can see that fat leafed one in the middle actually get bigger. Amazing. Also, interesting how they rebound at night, really perk up in the beginning of the day, then fade out.  Very interesting to watch.
It's cool too see huh. The first time I saw it I was amazed!

Yeah the little purple one in the foreground grew a lot during the last two vids!
Yeah. Birds eye baby that one.

The plants in my grow tent have come on really nicely;

My favorite pink tiger is doing ok, the leaves arent looking great, any ideas?;

I've noticed two seperate problems. Firstly leaf curl on a plant under the t5;

Discolour on a plant in my tent;

Leaf curl is calcium deficiacy right?

Thanks for looking :)

Hi, Paul.  Your conservatory plants look great, as do the T5 plants!
The conservatory is an awesome space!

As for the leaf curl, could be a bit of overwatering - have you looked
for signs of edema under the leaves?  Look like little crystally sort of
bumps.  Great description, huh   :rofl: Could be a little calcium
deficiency, try a cal-mag spray.  If the big leaves continue yellowing,
I just cut 'em off and let the plant put it's energy elsewhere.  Some
folks talk about nutrient lockout when plants get too much water/fertilizer.
They flush the soil with lots of water to get rid of the culprits and then
start a new water/fert cycle.  If all else fails, pot it up and let the roots
get into some new soil.

I'm not an expert, so don't take this as gospel.  I've gleaned most of
this info right here on THP.

I think its just overwatering, I need to hold back a bit. But your suggestion of cal-mag made me think, I only use rain water for my plants so they probably get very little calcium. I'll try the cal-mag!

Very cool video to watch PaulS, they all seem to grow a lot in those 10 days. Nice plants!
Thanks, its crazy how quickly they grow between the 7-12 week stage

Looking good Paul!

Cool vids!

Calmag works best as a foliar spray. Mix it a 50% (strength) and use more often. Small doses are easier to control.

I've ordered some cal-mag, it's not so common in the uk, so I'll give it a go when it arrives :)

Thanks dude.
I'm struggling to fit the plants into view as they are gettint bigger. I need to lift the camera higher but then the light gets in the way :(
You should set up a timelapse, it would look cool with the led purple look and you have lots of great plants. I enjoy looking at your glog

Actually i think you could get an app for your phone or even a cheap webcam

Great pic of your set up.  The fans should be very helpful.
