LOL...I was thinking the same...since Omri lives in the neighboring country. But, the dish I had was regualr taters, so that's what I went with. Also, like THP said, the garbanzo beans are the same as chickpeas...so it's all good. There were 3 other dishes I had, that I wanted to replicate, but ran out of kitchen space, and it would have taken me literally all day! Regardless, it was good...the lentil stew stuff turned out shockingly accurate, but a little...better! I've been eating it hat and cold right out of the fridge.
Yeah, I had no idea what "garbanzo beans" were.

What the heck is going on here?
How the hail am I still in this?
How can JT and me be soooo far ahead of all that other killer food?

Oh Yeah I love it when it comes down to the last minute. We need moer voters on here to make this a real race to a photo finish!!

Ela, I love lahmajun too. One place rolls it up with hot sauce, white sauce, lettuce, and tomato inside. Delish. But I've never seen puffy lahmajun like those, they've always looked like thin pizza. How have you had them? I'm glad this inspired you to bring back your Mom's apple recipe.

Thanks Boss. The original Lahmajun look like mine. Here is a link for you guys to check it out http://www.coolinarika.com/slika/turske-pizze/ Sorry it is in my native language so guys get your google translators up and running. Every time I went to Istanbul's Grand Bazaar I had puffy lahmajun. Maybe they made them thick to be carried easy while shopping around.

I guess that everybody makes them differently. I may take you up on Lahmajun rolls with hot sauce, lettuce and tomatoes. :)

Thanks for the info. Over here they use pita dough, maybe because they already make pitas and don't want a special dough. They make it round like a pizza and thin. Probably the same amount as a pita just stretched more. The ones you posted look great, and the ones you made look even better!

Glad to help Boss. See over in my Country pita bread is made of much thicker dough. It is not flat and thin like is here and is hard to roll it up. I'm pretty sure that every Country in Eastern Europe and Middle East has its own version of certain dishes. Here is a pita bread that I make for my gang at home.

And I'm using it for this ;)

Ya'll know I love my seafood and was tempted by Jay's. I'm also a sucker for a well put together eggs benny and very tempted by SD. I've eaten several times at 13 Coins in Seattle ( back in the day of the dinosaur I worked at the Coins' in Anchorage. I'm guessing SL ate at the Sea-Tac location maybe?) SL did that chix fett proud. In the end, having actually been to the joint (though it didn't wow me) I was won over by mjdiamond's Hash House A Go Go. Dude could have been working there, who knows? Know matter, the chix with the hot cream sauce yanked my chain.

Yeah that rosemary chicken with hab cream sauce on that pile of goodness needs more votes! That thing is awesome.

Well, since Scovie didn't vote for himself, I will not either. That being said, I always vote for the entry that I would most like to eat. This time that one would have been mine. So... my vote goes to Frydad. Primanti Bros has always had a special place in my heart and my stomach.

PS, I am thinking now that my appetizer should have been what I really thought of, but decided against. TB's queso.

I ended up making it tonight.

I reckon it ain't mine no more compadre. You always put the Jayman spin on 'thangs. JayT's Queso has a nice ring to it. Only question is, which super hot powder or puree did you make it with?

Jay T, I can't imagine a situation where I'd vote for myself. I'm confused as to why You and I are so far out there.... Wait a minute... it makes perfect sense! LOL
I see once again, My girl didn't listen, I told her not to vote for me. Oh well.
You deserve this one JT. period. It's an honor to run this close with you, and I consider it a privilege!
GO JT!!! :silenced:

Well TB, whenever I make it, I think of that drunken day in Vegas, so you are the inspiration. As far as what I put in it, just a few fresh cayennes and some of the Dragonfire Naga's Revenge sauce that I just reviewed. I made it with hot sausage, red onion, the cayennes, cheddar, Monterey Jack, Velveeta, and Cream Cheese.

Here, check it out. A little queso porn for your viewing pleasure.

Edit: Thank you Scovie. It is an honor to compete with you as well. May the best man lobster or egg win.

Wow I swept the SoFlo vote. That is a win in itself! Thanks guys.

Oh wait, 5-0 voted for Scovie. Too bad Bear's paws are too big, or he could break the tie.

On Tuesday nights Bear takes his "Lady Friend" to TGI Friday's for ribs.
And then he takes her back to his den and makes love to her to the sweet music of Beary White.
(so damn dumb...sorry everyone!)

5-O loves him some poached eggs. There was nothing we could do.

I love when it comes down to the wire!!!!

THX for the vote, JT. Seeing that made me want to Primanti all over myself!!!
