Cappy's Capsicum 2011

Just plain fabulous Cappy. Are you planning more sauce production this year?

Great effort, good luck with your season

Mike

Hey Mike, I will be making more hot sauce again as I have a big following among friends and family that demand more sauce be made. I want to keep it local this year as never could find a way to ship woozies without shipping costing way more than the sauce itself. I spend all this time growing hot peppers, perfecting a sauce, buying bottles and making label and the USPS makes more off every turn. It will be strictly fresh peppers so people can make their own sauces this year and selling at farmer markets around town here. Of course I will take care of my friends and do some private hot sauce sales on the side. Thanks again.

You have to keep moving it around or they get used to it fairly quick, tried it last year with all the pequins I was losing. You best bet with birds is just get a birdfeeder and feed the crap out of them all the time. Seen them fly in and abort a landing when they spot the owl.

Do you think a fake clown doll (like the one from Stephen King's IT) would help me keep small children away from my peppers?

I've seen this happen before with Jalapenos but this one looks like 4 stems fused together. This Biker Billy plant is healthy otherwise the 8 or so shoots coming out the top. Moved all Jalapenos from their 1 gallon walking shoes and into 4 gallon and in to the cage yesterday. I only have 10 orphaned plants left as I'm now out of dirt. All my plants seems to take the move to the final containers very well this year, not losing any lower leaves at all this year. Feels good to be finally done planting up 185 pepper plants for the year. :woohoo:

Great Job Cappy!
I'm glad you got em all potted up,
Now ya can just lay back in the hammock and watch em grow!

That is until its time to pick... and dry... and make sauce..
Then it'll feel like work again!

The Biker with the fused stems looks really cool!
Cant wait to see that guy grow up!

Quick update for the beginning of May, OBL is finally dead and my peppers have really started to take off. Everything seems to be rooted very well with new growth happening all the time, the plants are all just past their first fork and starting to bud. We just had about a week of rain and the plants perked up after that, they are only 10 weeks from seed. The terra cotta are all Brain Strain 7 Pod started from some of my first saved seed of my original brain strain plant who has sadly decided not to live any longer. Tomatoes and jalapenos both have fruit setting everyday salsa and poppers in June. Had a great weekend fishing caught a few Blackfin Tuna, some mahi-mahi and the first sailfsih of the season on out first trip. Saw lots of hammerhead sharks just cruising the surface and got covered up with 3 big 150 lb. Lemon sharks hooked up all at once. Nice to be home just watering my plants today. :woohoo:
