I received my small order yesterday and the seeds arrived very well packaged with a free packet of Scotch Bonnets. Nice selection of varieties on the site with something for everyone. I bought the Red Savina as it makes my favorite sauce. Not too hot and I can give it away to people that dont...
Congrats on the good season. I wanted to thank you for your help with my first year for the answers to questions and the like. Dont have near as much as you in the freezer or in powder so what are you going to do with all that product?
The seeds that you sent to me this spring have turned out well. This is why I need to lower the heat in some of the sauces for the less tolerant of my friends and family. Of course the more they try the more they want. Thanks for the suggestion and of course for the seeds.
I will try that to make a thicker picante sauce with the hot and milder peppers.
You both had similar answers I dont know why i never considered using bells as a non heat ingredient. I will also try the fruits in a small batch this week. Good thing about giving sauce away to family at...
I'm sure that many of you have faced the same question from friends and family that like a "hot" sauce but can't handle a superhot version that we all enjoy. My question is this - what is a good filler ingredient that will give enough volume to the pot and use only one or two bhuts, trinidads or...
A nice table full of heat. Just had the first flight of Canadian Geese flyover this morning here in NE Arkansas so I guess the cold weather is on the way. I too learned much this year and hope to not make the same mistakes come January. Did not know about the banana and will try it when the...
That is a great way to do this. I have the bhuts in the dryer that way today. Will the seeds still be good to plant after drying or not?
I'll grind a few with and without. Thanks for the suggestion.
I am starting to dry my peppers to make powder. Does it matter if the seeds are included or will the seeds add a bitter taste to the powder? I know it will take a very long time to remove all the seeds from everything especially the thin peppers like De Arbol etc. Thanks for the input.
Thanks for the input I didnt have any scotch bonnet written down but did receive mixed seeds. I thought the second was a bhut type. Wondering if the 3rd is just a cross of some type.
My first year with the super hots so I dont have a reference point to go from. It is very hot compared to the...
What do you think these may be:
There are 5 of these plants purple peppers large tall stalks. Is this a cross or will these get larger. I cut one and it is not mature still tasted raw.
Thank you for the help
Finally getting to post here again. We've had more rain in NE Arkansas this summer than I can remember. As of August 11 we are 2.15 inches over with more expected today. Seems like every 3 days we have thunderstorms or just a steady rain. Now I'm really glad I put 3 inches of mulch down or my...
Just got a call from a friend in Fayetteville where they are bringing out the salt trucks for the wkd. Good luck with everything hope you have it all covered up and your plants are hearty. We are going to be in the high 30's but no snow of course that can change at the blink of an eye. We need a...
Good luck with your grow. The video as you prob know stops at 2 minutes and was only in the ctr of the screen. Never tried to make one or upload one so I'm not complaining just a comment.
Wish your MG moisture control would have gone on for the summer as I have 18 Walmart bags that I have used it in with some of my better plants. Guess I'll be updating the progress and you may be able to get something out of my grow.
State of Maryland is now taxing rain runoff so I guess I'll...
