Same or different? I'm thinking different.

Update - a pepper was harvested and eaten and it was delicious, but sweet.

Same or different? I'm thinking different.

Thanks for the confirmation! Any guesses as to what the yellower ones are? ETA: I looked up the other peppers I planted (because some of the seedlings were really close, despite the dividers) and I had also planted some Turkish Charleston seeds - does the mystery plant look like those?

Same or different? I'm thinking different.

I planted some old Tekne Dolmasi seeds that I found in my stash and was surprised when they sprouted. I bought them from Pepper Lover at least 4 years ago! I kept a couple plants (that aren't doing well - went on vacation and had a caterpillar decimate them - I found and smushed the caterpillar...

    Roo's 2018 Container Gardening Attempts

It is! The only thing holding me back is that I'm now worried my deck will collapse if I add anything else    I do have a couple FilFil sprouts that are just now ready to pot... Maybe I'll make an exception to my "Seriously, stop buying plants" rule and pot those.

    Squirrels

I feel your pain. My parents have a peach tree and the squirrels are impossible. They've taken to harvesting the peaches as soon as they have a slight blush and letting them ripen fully inside, which isn't ideal but at least they get a couple peaches. Not sure if that's an option with lychee...

    Berry Varieties

I bought a goji berry on clearance at Lowe's and potted it (18" pot, as suggested by Oh Knowledgable Google). It had a shoot sprouting up so I potted that separately in a smaller container. Figured I'd try to nurse it up to adult size and see how I do. Two for one! And the shoot is putting out...

If Gardening a Family thing for you?

Definitely! When I was growing up, my dad's dad had a huge garden next to their house. He basically took up their entire yard with his garden. It's where I learned where potatoes come from when I was very small (I was absolutely amazed!). My mom's dad also gardened. One year, he was so fed up...

    Roo's 2018 Container Gardening Attempts

I lost my password for a while an then promptly forgot I had a glog, but I'm back now!   On March 4th, I moved all my seedlings into slightly larger little pots and transferred everyone over to a bigger shelf. (And bought chives, which promptly died.)   On March 26th, I put the biggest of the...

    Roo's 2018 Container Gardening Attempts

Haha! I may have gotten most of my ideas from sites geared towards another type of indoor grow  I spent about a week expecting the DEA to knock at my door.   Unless you're referring to the trays being used for regular brownies, in which case never mind  :P

    Roo's 2018 Container Gardening Attempts

Got my little corner all set up in the basement...       I recreated my setup from a couple years ago - shelving unit, dollar store pans, etc - only this time I actually remembered to label everything. I didn't label well the first time I tried starting seeds, so when I transplanted, I had no...

    photography Any photographers?

He was crazy! We had all his siblings up for adoption at various times and they were all kind of nuts, but super sweet.    I used this tutorial for mine. I got all my supplied at Walmart - a large box (in the packing section), cheap white cotton for the sides ($2.00 per yard, 2 yards did two...

    photography Any photographers?

I consider myself a constantly aspiring photographer  I have a Canon T3i and I've been saving up for a Canon 80D (just a couple hundred away now).    I just set up a do-it-yourself-cheaply lightbox for some product photography that I'm hoping to try out tomorrow. I got really excited when I...

    Roo's 2018 Container Gardening Attempts

Yeah, ginger root - but they're from eBay and they're seeds, so I'm assuming they're probably not actually ginger. I'll find out! I like an experiment every now and again.   Thanks for the tips - I'll check out those tutorials! I'm not looking to have a whole bunch of containers (just a couple...

    photography Pet picture thread!

I'm back! I've been gone a while. Years. In the meantime, my past pets have passed. I now have a betta and a cory cat (separate tanks because the betta's a [handsome] jerk) and a greyhound, Tessa.

    Roo's 2018 Container Gardening Attempts

I caught the garden bug again.    It's been a couple years since I did much of any gardening - I moved to Asheville for a year and a half and had two 'gardens' that ended up being rather disappointing and producing very little of anything. What they did produce was quite disappointing - weirdly...

Are 7 Pots any good when they're green?

My poor 7 pots didn't quite make it in time - it's chilly now and the plants are losing their leaves. They only just started producing peppers a couple weeks ago so everything is still green! I'd hate to lose two entire plants of peppers just because they're green (I was hoping to make a batch...

    preservation Vinegar free sauce recipes?

Thank you for the advice! I truly cannot take the smell of vinegar, so vinegar was out. I thought about using rice vinegar because I have it and it doesn't make me gag like the rest but I chickened out - my sauce doesn't need to keep forever and I wasn't making a lot of it. In the end, I...
