How does the brown Rocoto look like when it's ripe? also have you tried the white rocoto yet?
Tried to grow the brown Rocoto last year - failed. THis year much better. It ripens deep brown - it's the real deal. Very rare. I never knew this color C. Pubescens existed until 2008.
The white rocoto I've been told ripens light yellow. Kind of disappointing, but expected. I'm growing that too this year.

sounds like a good color, hope it tastes as good as it looks, I've got 14 diff types planted for this season so far (got a bit carried away as usual)
The Pimenta Barro-Do Ribeiro set a lot more pods in its 14" round container. A real show stopper.

The yellow pods had a nice citrusy flavor - heat - 6-7 of 10. THe Trinidad "Pink" Seasoning had nice flavor, no heat. CGN 22793 - yuck...no thanks. lol.
AJ's yellow 7s are getting bigger now.
