GA GH's Garden 2013

Seeing people already starting seeds gave me the bug. & I just didn't think watching our southern hemisphere friend's grows was going to fill that void. As my season comes to an end, i needed to do something. What? I am not sure, but here i am.

Jason, dats so true brethren, I feel the same way and sometimes have to eat another or refer back to the notes I made during that tasting. I’ve also found a slight taste variation if one was prematurely ripe, mas ripe or unripe … impossible to describe that, hehehe.

Keep up da great work mon, love the pics, stories and impressions, have a great Sunday!

Thank you Ramon. It's good to know I'm not alone. I take so many peppers to work each day, it's hard to remember what we tried the week before. I really need to take a clue from you and keep notes. That would make things easier!

As always, your glog never disappoints Jay! Great photography skills, pod porn and descriptions! Cheers!
Thanks Rick! I am enjoying it all! Glad you like my efforts!

A few picts that didn't make it last night.

Peach bhuts 1,2, & 3

BB yellow douglahs up top and wrong shaped yellow CARDI scorps on bottom. The not yel CARDIs are really a lighter lemony yellow than all the othe yel c. chinenses i have seen. The true plant is not like this one. And these are big and blocky!

Fantastic update!

I can see how the tasting can get confusing, so much variety!

Pics are great too!

Scott, didn't i just say i should have one ripen soon?
Reaper
 It won't be long!
I think you'll like them, got my son lit up on one last night...he said never again...but he did want some of the Reaper-Bhut sauce to take home!

Have a great week!

Thanks Scott. That made me laugh!
Never say never!
I just looked and there are 5 or 6 starting to turn today! Just the waiting game now and plenty to keep me busy till then.
I have a 3 gallon bucket i use to harvest. Filled it twice yesterday and about 3/4th of it today. Trying to keep things separated like the yellow 7s, yel brains, and yel morugas. They all are similar enough i harvest them separately. My back is toast today but need to get to some more processing. Have a great Sunday Scott!

Top notch, Jason! Your BBG7 #2 looks the same as one of the plants I have going here, harvested the first 2 ripe pods this weekend. The stem of the pod didn't go red anymore after a week, so I harvested it.

Thank you Stefan! Yours does look like my #2 plant. I was thinking that one's calyces looked more like the original pod's calyx. I have left mine about 3 weeks after the pod turns red to see how red they get. The pods haven't softened up during that time. They do get a bit more red, but not like the #1 plant with the mutated calyces. I have only tried a #1 plant's pod so far, but now have pods from the other two to try. I still have plant 4 with not a single bud on it. It has grown up above it's neighboring plants, so maybe it will do something before the season ends. I should go take a cutting of it, it's going the OW list if it never shows it's self.
Put up a few details on that pod after you try it.

That is a lot of tasting! I love all of the yellow in the picture above, and the BBG7 looks pretty awesome.
You aren't kidding! Not enough time in the week to try everything. I gotta leave a meal between tasting when dealing with some of these supers. I have a soft spot for yellow pods, but the peach flavor has really grown on me! The bbg7 are pretty cool looking. I never got a good shot of the #1 plant. Something to try later if I'm up for it. Having back issus, again :( ,at the moment.

And here is another shot trying to show the lemony light yellow of the not yel CARDI scorps. That is the true pod below it for comparison.

One of my mystery plants appears to be a Bonda Ma Jacque. I couldn't get any to germinate. Dumped out all the unspouted trays in an empty soil bag, which sat in the sun and found spouts all through out it. Also top dressed my tomato starts with that soil and a few more came up. Ended up with 12 mysteries. Lost almost that many too.
Is this a Bonda Ma Jacque? I'm leaning toward that.

Any with trying to keep up with Mike and Gary... My first dragonfly picture. I think he/she was molting or something.

I harvested it this saturday, will post a picture of it in a few sec. Haven't tried it but I'm afraid of it  maybe I feel brave enough tomorrow. They are very bright red with a pink hue to them. Pods with the lemon color looks really cool, how is the these of these bad boys? They are pretty huge!

Glad to see the good guys are hanging too!

They always find the bad guys, hopefully before too much damage. My choice is let nature handle the pests, and just plant more.

exceptional updates.. following your bubblegum 7s....on mine the outside of the stem didnt turn red as much.. but once you slice it..youll notice it does get red... the calyx is moist and has some heat...

note the stem arent as red on the outside

my plants are recovering.. and i have one new pod set on the bbg.. my #2 like yours grow like a MOFO.. but got 3 grape size pods...

Everything balances out in the long run, doesn't it? I have seen large hornets cruising thru looking for a bite to eat too. I try to stay on the opposite row and let them do their thing. It's a little ecosystem in the garden!

What? The calyces have heat? That's crazy! I gotta try one of mine now to see if they are the same. Those look killer! Didn't know the stem had red in it. I only have eaten one so far and i just pulled the stem and calyx off. So cool!
Glad to hear you plant is trying to recover! Hopefully it can break on thru! My seems to have halted. No new buds or flowers. Going to hit it with some ferts this weekend and see if it wakes back up. The #1 has only made 10 or so pods.
Thanks on the updates Denniz!

Great pics Jason! Love the shot of the mantis.
Thanks Stefan! I went out earlier and it was still on the choc barrackpore. Actually sitting on a pod wait for dinner. Hope he calls that plant home!
