off-topic Good Mornin' Thread - For those that get up really early and post

Good morning/afternoon. Spent all morning taking down tomato plants and saving the green tomatoes. One year I had 8-5 gal. of green tomatoes after giving away much of them for fried green tomatoes. Today I gave away about 10 lbs. of them to a friend who makes 'green tomato pies'.

Chicken curry soup sounds like winner.

Have a great weekend.

Good morning.  Yesterday was a bad day as we lost our oldest cat (Big Kitty).  He'd been a fixture around here for 12 years.  He's now buried in memorial on the side of the barn  .  Harvested 2 buckets of peppers last evening.  I could have picked more but my back was hurting.  It rained most of the night but appears to have stopped for now.  Now with my hurting back, I'll be helping to move my mother-n-law into the retirement home this morning.  Fun day ahead of us  .  Be safe and be good.

Good morning all :)

Hope everyone is doing well.

Season is quickly coming to an end up here, got lots of garden clean up to do before it gets too cold.
Might try to clone a couple of the wilds, might just restart from seeds, but earlier this time.

Today's schedule; playing with foster kitties, then maybe making some soup later this afternoon :)  so, overall a pretty chillaxed Sunday for me

Hope you all have a spectacular Sunday, with lot's of opportunities to S.M.I.L.E. :D

Good morning everyone. We worked hard in the community garden removing the rest of my tomato plants, yellow beans, cucumbers. Not much left to do when it freezes, though the garden still needs water on the remaining stalwarts. Am finally getting a few ripe peppers, one is the size of my hand.

Hope your day goes well. Share the bounty and S.M.I.L.E - thanks to GIP.

Good morning.

Hey Jason and Jane!

Everything is going well. Been looking after my mom the past year. She is doing ok.

Took a break from the garden this year. Last Summer had 3 weekends off of work. This year Ive only work maybe 3 weekends. Still putting in 60+ by Friday. Me and my son have been spending time together. Hes 13 now!!! Hes almost a black belt in Taekwondo and on the swim team. Couldnt be a prouder father. Hes awesome!

Enjoy life and take some time for yourself.

Have a great day.

Chuck

Good morning.  Been busy this AM putting together 5 flats of peppers to take to work for give away.  I don't know if anyone will take them.  It's at least a 1,000 peppers.  There's Bhuts, 7 Pots, Ajis, Bonnets, Habs, Scorpions and Jalas.  Packaged seeds this morning too. Forecast is for a nice day ..... but it seems pretty hot and windy.  Chiefs play at noon.  Be safe and be good.

Glad all is going well your way Chuck. Bike ride and some maintenance on my Gravel Grinder as its totally dismantled. Its good to take your bikes apart once a year for a deep cleaning. Going to do the same with my road bike soon. Have a wonderful day bless up and good morning.

Good morning.  Lugged the boxes of peppers in to work today.  Hopefully they'll go quick.  Looks like the WX should be good.  Mother-in-law is at her new retirement place.  I've got to go to her old place this evening to get a cabinet and workbench for the barn.  catherinew:  I would be happy to send you anything I've got .... PM forthcoming.  Be safe and be good.

Good morning everyone. The end of September with temps in the 80/40* F ranges, so its easier weather to enjoy the gardens. No freeze in the next weekly forecast. So sad to see dragonsfire snow so early, but it is a beautiful snow.

Really good to see OCD here as I know he has been a workaholic. I loved the pics he shared of his vacation with his son.

Many thanks to Harry D. We certainly have caring people at THP.

Enjoy your days ahead, and S.M.I.L.E. - thanks to GIP for the remembrance.

Good Monday morning all :)

It's been generally cool during the day, and bordering on what most of you south of us would call cold at night here.

some weird/fluctuating weather here

supposed to reach 80 F today

Currently 69F/20C but it's been raining through the night, and supposed to keep raining for few days until, Friday when night temps will drop down to 38F/3C Friday night
The Pubescens look fine, most the Wilds look OK, the Annuums look like they are about to give up :mope:
Had more Serranos planted here this year, and in the parents garden as well...
and yet, i am still getting less Red ripe ones in before it gets cold at night than previously
Oh well, fortunately green Serranos are great tasting too :)

Hope you all are having a magnificent Monday, and a wonderful week

be excellent to each other, and remember to S.M.I.L.E.
:D

Good morning.  The 5 boxes of peppers I brought to work to giveaway .... disappeared.  That's a good thing.  I picked up the cabinet and workbench from the mother-in-laws and they're now in my barn.  We're going on vacation starting Thursday for 1.5 weeks and I need to mow before we leave.  Looks like I'll be mowing this evening because they're forecasting more rain for tomorrow.  Today's office schedule looks pretty decent.  Be safe and be good.

Good morning everyone. Cold front coming through today, I just hope the temps stay above 40*F. A friend gave me more iris to plant for her as she has mostly rocks around her house and yard. I will have to replace one row of planting garlic with the iris in the community garden. Getting excited about garlic planting as we have used/shared a lot of it this summer. The joy of garlic.

Have a great day and drive defensively.
