off-topic Good Mornin' Thread - For those that get up really early and post

Morning - downhill to the weekend now :D Should be another sunny day.
Not much planned today, although I do have a load to get done. I never did like planning. Today will be a surprise.
I do know that curry is on the menu for this evening, least I think so.
See what I mean? Vague Thursday
Whatever you're doing have a good one - keep calm, cool, vague and smiley :D

Good morning. It's 68F (20C) on its way to nowhere. Lots of severe thunderstorms in the area. The storms have been rolling through since last evening with large hail and a few tornados around. Thankfully, most of it has passed just to the northwest. Today is the start of a much cooler WX pattern (DR .... heads-up). The forecast is for 50s/low 60s for daytime highs and lows in the 30s/40s for most of next week. Finally got the new grilling gear put together yesterday. Light work schedule today. Shutting down by mid-morning. Not much else is planned for today with the WX the way it is. No idea on today's menu plan. Be safe and be good.

Good morning. It's sunny and 43F, on its way to 88F. Gonna be darn near balmy out there today! @Ratatouille, Mom's improving, albeit slowly. They think she'll be in hospital at least until tomorrow, maybe longer. They've got her blood pressure to stabilize, which is great, but her heart rate is still too high. They're working on getting it under control. On the plant front, I managed to up-pot most of the tomatoes and a few of the replacement peppers. While we were at the hospital last night, one of the cats decided the rest of them were cat grass. Don't know what's left to salvage, but that's ok really, had too many to start with, ha. @Harry_Dangler thanks for the WX heads-up. It'll be here in a few days. What new grilling gear we talking about? Hope everybody has a terrific Thursday. Be safe out there.

Good morning. 27-45F, not too conducive for tender plants. Removed most of the aphids from the peppers yesterday, treating each plant like a small child. Guess the plants like the ‘music to clean by’. Banana bread this AM, lunch with friends, repotting broccoli. Looks like a productive day.
Have a great day. Take time for yourself. Stay safe.

DR - The new gear is: (1) flat top griddle (Blackstone) and (1) new pellet smoker (RecTeq) for us. I also put together (1) new gas grill (Weber) for my daughter (that I will have to haul up to the city).

Good day

Downriver, glad mom is stabilized. They’ll figure something out. Take care of yourself and try and relax the mind. I know what you’re going through.

Picked up 3 yards of premium compost yesterday. $120. Way cheaper than bags. I only buy bagged at the beginning of the year for potting starts. No it’s on. Need to find a plot in the yard to start amending and need to make up batches of final pot soil. Lots to do.

Outside work for sure today. It was windy with snow yesterday. Was in it all day at track meet. Son did good. He got PR in discus and 200 meter. Proud of him. He’s a great kid. Better than I at his age for sure, I lots of weed and girls was my thing in high school. Lol

Make the best with what you’ve got and enjoy what you can, while you can.

Morning all - Friday is here at long last, smell that weekend!
Bit chilly this a.m., that cold wind is still blowing, but the sun is out, so the peppers can come out and sunbathe again.
Potting on planned for this morning, work this afternoon. Then fish and chips for dinner - bliss.
And that's it for today.
Have a good Friday, keep cool, warm, dry, calm and smile as always :D

Morning all,

I read there might be some night frost beginning of next week. That should be the last of winter I have decided.

Had a lazy morning, which was lovely. Next up some cleaning, grocery shopping and other errands. I need to come up with what to eat for dinner next week. Tips are welcome!

Might do some repotting later on, maybe even make a selection of which plants will win the price of getting a spot in my garden and which will be sold of or given away. 🤔 Gardening is brutal like that.

Have a wonderful Friday, say goodbye to winter, enjoy spring and expect summer to be here anytime now.

Good morning. It's 42F (6C) on its way to 64F (18C). This will be the warmest day in the foreseeable future. We have freeze warnings for this weekend. All of the cold weather stuff (carrots, lettuce, potatoes, onions, radishes .....) that's already out in the garden is very small and should do OK. Our high tomorrow is forecasted to be 50F (10C). Today, I have to get out and mow and trim. That job should take around 4 hours. We have the grand-kiddos this weekend (starting after school today) so we will be busy. First though I need to do some office work until mid morning. Most of my starts are now 12-18" and the tomatoes are 24-30" (and now are a total PITA). They need to go outside. Pizza tonight for the kids. Pierogies with onions and sausage for grandma and grandpa. Be safe and be good.

67 on its way to 88. Some work in the barn, I clear coated a old bike yeterday and am hanging it above a door. And I have a bunch of license plates I need to clean and hang. Going to play guitar most of the day. Will get my hour or more on the drums. Need rain as I need more work and well I need rain to do that, lol. This is normal though, it really doesnt start to pick up until May. Then its on for several months and I get burnt out, lol. have a terrific day and good morning.

Good morning. It's sunny and 58F, on its way to 87F. Another warm one - I'll take it. Unfortunately, this is the last one for a while. It's not supposed to reach 70F again before May 4th. Got some errands to run today, them stop by to see Mom. Falling behind on garden prep. I need to step it up I guess. My back disagrees, lol. Anyway, I hope everybody has a freaky fun Friday. Be safe out there.

Good morning. 26-52F, which is still winter in my mind, though we did have a few nice days this month. We still need Ratat’s rain to drift here. The weather gal may say there’s rain in the future, but it usually stays north of us. Coffee group, then daughter and I are visiting a dear friend in an assisted living place. Daughter wants to test drive a new hybrid car, hoping to purchase one later in the year. I get to tag along and make comments.
Harry, your tomato plants sound huge! Must be the KS air. How many are you planning on planting?
How many peppers is everyone planning on growing?
Friday is here, soon the weekend. Have a great day and take time for yourself. S.M.I.L.E.

Kansas basement air :)! The plan is to plant out 64 peppers (88 are under the lights right now) and 32 tomatoes (56 under the lights right now). I'll have a few give aways.

Morning all the weekend has arrived and so has the rain, wind and storms
Luckily I did a lot of potting on, feeding and general tidying up of peppers yesterday.
Loads to do this weekend at the moment I can't think of what but I know I've got a lot of small things to finish off.
Have a good Saturday, keep warm, dry, cool, calm and smile :D

Morning all,

I've just finished feeding, showering (water and soap to get rid of aphids) and ogling my pepper plants. Some look awful and sickly (aphids), others are still doing splendid. I think (knock on wood) I'm winning from the aphids.

Not sure what I'm doing today. I want to go out in a sleeveless shirt, pretending it's a warm spring day, but it's to cold and wet for that if I'm honest.

On the menu tonight, Keang Panaeng. I'm a fan of this curry with baby eggplant, kaffir lime leaves, pepper, coconut milk, tofu and rice.

Enjoy the Saturday wishing rain upon those who need it.
