hooda's Grow 2012 - Rise of the Clones

So today i just transplanted my first set of seedlings that are about 3 weeks old now and have started my new seeds I just got from pepperlover.com today.

3 week old peppers are:

Manzano
Gochu
Caribbean Red
Jalapeno
Cayenne
Bhut Jolokia
Fatalii
Aji Lemon
Aji Chuncho
Tepin
Red Habanero
Scotch Bonnet TFM
Maui Thai
7 Pod Yellow

Transplants were done a bit early for some but I think it was for the best as they were all in jiffy pellets and some of the seedlings were starting to root past the pellet and starting to dry out faster than I was comfortable with.

Pepperlover.com was awesome and threw in Orange Hab, Red Hab, and Aji Chuncho with my order

Also all of the seedlings I'm growing I still have extra seeds if anyone is interested in some trades.

Got yours drinking the tea too huh??? Mine really seem to like it. and when I put the post brew blob of compost back in my worm bins I come back to find the little bricks loaded with worms. cool stuff! Almost time for some socal pod exchanges!

Keep up the good grow!
Shane
Yeah once I got pods on, I'll be up for some pod exchanges :)

Well I got a battle on my hands, aphids, spider mites and horn worms oh my. Let alone the encroaching gophers. Seen a couple lady bugs on some of my plants that I didn't spray, all the other plants I sprayed with Bonide. The spider mites are low in numbers from what I have seen and are not on all of my plants. Took me about an hour plus to get under every leaf with my sprayer, not fun.

I was going to take some good photos with my rebel of all my flowering plants as well as pod shots, but that will have to wait until tomorrow as the light is getting low with this cloud cover. Now on to a beer to drown my sorrows.

This is helping me get through - ojinguh che.
Dried, salted Squid? How tender is it when cooked? I've been buying it fresh and freezing it. Sorry to hear the critters have been keeping you hopping... Hopefully you'll thin them out soon and they won't be quite such a nuisance. Cheers

Haven't seen any hornworms yet, but still have my share of aphids and mites. With Cayennemist reporting hornworms to the South and you to the North I think its really just because I haven't looked closely at my Tomatoes...they're probably there. I've had a bunch of smaller caterpillars on my pepper plants but they're just a nuisance at this point. That Bonide will probably cure your mite issues right away, but the aphids are tough little buggers! The last batch of Ladybugs I released finally knocked them out on my containers. I'm finding ladybug nymphs cruising the plants daily and very few aphids. My in ground plants still have a few...but finally under control. Hope yours are the same.

I usually make a side dish with it, using gochjang, corn syrup, soy. The ones that are bagged sometimes can be a bit chewy, but if you get them fresh they are way less chewy. By themselves it has a good sweetness to them.

Yeah I'm sure they will be fine, just bums me out seeing the damage from them. Just have to wait it out and stay alert. Maybe I'll get some ladybugs this weekend to throw out there.

Yeah I still haven't got the drip watering dialed in yet I think I under water and over water at times. But I'll get it sooner or later.
I'm not sure your plants notice the difference! Really nice specimens.
It usually takes me a few cycles to get the irrigation right, as well.
I am going to try to be better at monitoring.

Enjoy your garden, my friend!

So I didn't get around to taking any photos with the rebel but I did take a couple before I had to make dinner.

They are all doing alright but have some damage from aphids that on some are really bad but they will be good in no time.

I've also acquired some new bells because my girlfriends friend was moving out of town and dropped them off. They are in a water logged state right now and I'm in the process of redoing the soil on them an converting two to hydro.

The Manzano is looking nice! Beautiful flower picture. The ones I got going from the seed you sent are doing well, I may even be able to get some pepper from them this year, which is better than I had hoped for. Yours is nice and branched out and sprawling though. Looks great!

See if I can revive these ones as well.

Looking great bro! I haven't been able to cruise the forums like I am used to, but it looks like you are doing great.

I am really excited to see those crosses and if they differ from mine much. But they look like they went to the perfect place!

When they ripen up I'll send you some for comparison.
