Masonic question

I was a Job's Daughter, which is sort of an offshoot of the Masons.

Do you want history or do you want modern times?

well, the short bit is, its a bit like a fraternity and its a bit like the Lions club, with heavy religious overtones.

Its got secret rituals and rules which keep you good and noble and truthful and because, well, people like secret rituals, and stuff, ya know?

Like a fraternity, it gives you a "family" of social contacts that may be also business contacts,- they are do-gooders that raise money for a variety of good causes and they can also be like unto a real "family" in which people will go out of their way to take care of each other.

The best story I know on that score is, a Mason hit midlife and went AWOL, abandoned his wife and family -just dissappeared. The wife, in desparation after no results from Missing Persons, called his lodge. word was put out and they found him in some other state in an alley with a bottle. The Masons did some serious intervention and some "Come to Jesus" talking and got the man real help, and he went back to his family.

I think the Shriners are real similar.

Some things here I didn't know about them, but I still have a question. What is their purpose? What do they do and what is the point of it?

They do charity work, and I guess it might be as simple as having a good time "hanging out" with others who share the same interests and values.

And planning to take over the world of course:lol:

masons look after each other it's all favours for favours and back scratching, if there is nothing devious and underhand about them why do they need to be secret?

Who watches NBC anyway?

They do a great deal for children. Mainly the shriners. They are in just about every parade. Some on full dresser Harleys, some on trikes, some dressed as clowns. There is a big circus about an hour away every summer. The tickets that aren't sold to the public are given to poor kids. Then there are the shriners hospitals. Care can be free for children there, if the family can't afford it. I don't belong, but know and support some who do. My father and uncles were masons.

Speaking of the NEW WORLD ORDER, I've been hearing about this my entire life. When is it going to start?! I'm really getting tired of the OLD WORLD ORDER!!!

The freemasons have been around sice the late 17th century, so they don't seem to be working very fast. They'll probably take over the world during the 38th century.

That's a big misconception people seem to have. They think it's a "within their own lifetime" sort of thing when it's not.
