Mmmmmm...poppers!

Hey ya'll once again from the big dry ditch in Las Vegas. I was going to grill today but ahhh...a little too hot once again. Maybe tomorrow will be more appropos. My gal had bought some very nice ground beef to make some sliders but she changed her mind as usual and opted instead for spinach/cheese ravioli with garlic cream sauce instead. Of course I was enlisted to do the cooking. So what to do with the ground beef? I have peppers. I have cheese. Duh..como se dice en espanol....poppers!!
Ground beef, japs, 4 cheese Mexi mix, shallots, Lawry's and fresh ground pepper. Here tis. Notice the melon ball tool I use to deseed. Works perfect.

IGG it could be possible, just fill one of those flavor injector things full of the cream cheese mix, poke & pump them full. I'd draw the line at wrapping them in bacon though. And pequins might be pushing it but tabasco poppers?

Why abandon the bacon option? Ask your local pathologist. Maybe you can use his microtome.
 
how about using the tepins/pequins in the stuffing for other peppers...that'll get your attention...

AJ..that would be the Turducken version of poppers. Like a pequin in a serrano in a jalpeno...the peserpeno. Make a more lethal version with a Naga for your enemies.

"Turducken"...hard to get next to any food that includes the word "turd" in it's name.

I tried stuffed Fataliis lol not the wisest move.Great with bacon and stuffed with some full flavor cheese..But not great first thing
inthe morning.My face had a glow to it all day :)
 
You'd have to use one of those meat injectors for the small ones......heh heh heh....damn, did i just type that?


But seriously, i was wondering if you could wrap them in proscuittini or capicola instead of bacon(yeah, i know i know but i'm curious, thats why) and if you folks think they'd turn out ok.

I would think you could wrap them in just about whatever type of meat you want - ham, bacon, turkey bacon, etc.

Maybe you could go with bologna wrapped pan fried jalas stuffed with spam. :)

That would probably be good but i'm trying to avoid(barely) the ensuing coronary i'd get from them.
 
Ain't no rules on poppers as long as they are good. Muddy Waters used to make "Fried Balogney Snacks". If it was good enough for Muddy...whoa yeah! Everythang' goin' be's alright ya'll!

Ok, I have hundreds of frozen Jals.....Will they be any good for poppers or do you think they will go a bit to soft. Or will the baking process help them to hold together. I think they should be fine....Just asking more knowledgable people....:)

Moy...I haven't stuffed frozen and thawed japs but..give it a try anyway. The 'thang is I would recommend to cook the stuffing sans cheese first and then stuff..thus avoiding the japs sagging too much. No matter..poppers are like pizza and sex..when it's good it's great..when it's bad...it's still pretty good!

Yeah! I will do that. I have just finished my today's reboil of sugar syrup. I'm making candied peppers. So now I'm hungry and I have time to fry some poppers. I will post pics later.:onfire:

P.S.: I used some of the syrup for sweetening my tea. Lovely! It's not really hot but it tickles the palate.

P.P.S.: Oh that flavor! Oh that nice heat! I took pictures before I started eating. Please excuse me that I finish my poppers before I do all the download stuff. ...yummy!

Here's a closeup.

This time the stuffing consisted of feta cheese, paprika cream cheese, pepper, salt, balsamico vinegar from pickled habaneros, bacon (the same I wrapped them with) and Leerdamer cheese. And I wrapped them with Leerdamer cheese and bacon.

I ate five of them, then I had to stop. I'll eat the rest cold tomorrow.
 
'Dillo...that is some dirty sweet love on a plate man! I wouldn't be able to stop at 5. With all that hot bacon cheezy sex love there I wouldn't stop til at least one of those poppers was lodged in my left ventricle. Great job! You get 15 minutes in the Cheese Fry Booth!

I was going to make my first lot of basic poppers for dinner tonight then some unexpected guests turned up (not my favorite people)....and we ended up getting pizza....:banghead:

Anyway, I was going to use 2 Hungarian Hot wax that are in the orange stage....and i was just going to do a basic mince, herb and fresh cheese mix as the filler....

I will do it in a few days when the chillis are fully ripe....
