Ruskin tomatoes are a thing ...
 
They are more dear to me than San Marzano's ...
 
No shade towards SM's, but you can spoof them more readily with a little sugar, than the Ruskin's - which you can't really spoof, because it's a turgidity thing ...
 
They spritz when you eat them, like similarly crystalized watermelon ...
 
I've heard of people running needle with thread dipped in corn syrup through marijuana trunks to add sugars ... maybe someone should try to get some corn syrup into a beefsteak mater ...

Yes, and I've had many ... but we didn't ask my family to send us those, and we sent crates of grapefruits and Ruskin tomatoes up to family growing up, LOL ...
 
I hear, through, I think from Ashen - there's some maters for making Italian from Jersey that are supposed to be better than SM's for making gravy ...

 
 
I think I mentioned Stanislaus from Cali as a base for pizza sauce or you can just use this straight up.
