WSM modifications continue....probe inserts to save from pinching the wires or running them through vents...yes you can buy some that replace screws and whatnot but DIY was cheaper.
The hinge is very heavy and professional, I''ll provide additional feedback once it is 100% attached and of course more pictures.tctenten said:I think the newer WSM come with a pre-drilled hole for the probes, I know mine did when I bot it last year. That lid attachment looks pretty nice. Is it sturdy?

Yeah if they were predrilled super easy and if you have the tools fairly easy as well. It will get tested this Sunday with some porktctenten said:Looks good, I think I will be doing that. Wonder why Weber doesn't just make them like that. It looks pretty easy to assemble, especially if the holes are pre drilled.
New door, seal on inside the new door even though it did not leak as well and seal where lid sits on top, new hinge to keep lid from going to ground and the two inserts/holes for the probes. They stay open since the wires will run through them but if I wanted since they are threaded I could close them off.HigherThisHeat said:So for the mods you have put on a new, more sealed door. Probe inserts. Lid hinge. Anything else I missed?
Are they just an open hole all the time, or do they close, er what?
