Oops...Who leaked that?

bentalphanerd said:
I followed it back up but it goes through some pipes under some multi-lane main roads and into an industrial estate.

EPA were confident they could track it.

Sounds like someone hit the wrong button and dumped when they weren't supposed to. Something similar has happened to the Suwannee river with discharge from a chicken processing plant (salmonella in the fish) and some other chemical facility I don't remember right now (dead fish).

They need to PAY and/or get shut down for investigation.

Just been down there with the council & EPA who are taking samples. The dead fish have their skin peeling off. Its not pretty.
EPA coming over here later to collect photos & water samples from last night.
Whoever did this is toast.

Good. And I hope it's a long, slow roast.

Seriously, Bent, job well done. Give yourself a pat on the back.

keep an eye on the news...some prick dumped a huge load of
chemicals into our local parks creek last night...we got pics & called BCC {local council}...who didnt want our pics or water samples from last night. Then turned up an hour ago (12 hours after incident) & took pictures of dead fish. The turtles, eels ducks all gone
(were gasping for air last night)

Oops - I just leaked it to the courier mail with some pics. How careless of me.

'raises his glass to bent and IGG'

i want to be on the front lines of Green Peace hanging these bastards, they have no regard for anything else other then profit..

i like profit as well, dont get me wrong.. but i love nature and would defend any animal before i would defend my neighbours.

Please keep us informed, I hope you get some satisfaction from the outcome. In the mean time did they tell you that YOU would be safe?...your home water, breathing..etc?.... man that is a terrible thing to do, I applaud you for making people notice and act on such a terrible crime.

Stuff like that just pisses me off -- there really isnt any practical reason to dispose of any chemicals in waterways these days -- horrible absolutly horrible

Good Job Ranger Bent

Thats nasty, maybe used meth lab chemicals?
Here, we recently had 6000 lbs of freon-22 spilled into the Ottawa river, and this just after a 40,500-litre sewage spill, and a small petroleum hydrocarbon leak:(

Call me paranoid but I kept one of the water samples taken from the night. I know the EPA will do the right thing but didn't want some bureaucrat higher up drawing a red line through the whole thing & canning it.
Figured I'll find a friendly chemist through Greenpeace or somewhere to get it tested independently.

It's all about the money sadly

Good to see you are a caring, sensitive guys Bent....

Admitt it you just put 200 litres of bubble bath in the water and then took a pic....:D

Wouldn't believe it - theres another bunch of foam coming down the creek now. The place is crawling with council workers trying to clean out all the dead from last time. EPA is on there way back.

How screwed up are these "people"

Get pics of the dead fish in the truck, bin whatever.

About 5 yrs ago a green keeper in Manly NSW killed a stream with pesticide runoff. Most damaging pictures were of the fish piled up in the back of a truck and floating on the surface of the water.

Dude that is messed up!!! To do it once is bad enough but to do it again like that is just an outrage. fill up a couple of bucket of the shit for who ever dumped it to take a friggin bath in or to make tasty toxic cocktail for them. Hopefully who ever done this will get whats comming to them!!!

bentalphanerd said:
Yeah - the EPA are there now taking pics & more samples & a couple of guys in following the flow back.

Should have them cold now.

Good.

I can't believe they dumped that stuff two days in a row.

They are like, soooo dead. I don't know what the fine is but it's HUGE. There is also the possibility of jail time, serve the f#$%^rs right.

besides the chemicals in the photo, its a pretty photograph though. and I don't like pricks ruining earth it's our only planet we can live on. And no I'm not a tree humper or a hugger.

Yeah it was a really nice place. Had turtles and ducks & ibis, couple of fish species all kinds of migratory water birds would camp there for a week on their journey. Green tree frogs, kingfishers...ahhh the list is long.

$%#@'n spewin

I reckon whoever did it should have to pay for the cleanup & regeneration + buy up the vacant land at the other end & donate it to the public as more parkland.
That'd cheer them up.
