PaulG 2014

Grow List 2014 - Many new varieties and a few repeaters.
This is the third year of my original three year plan to grow a slew of different
types to see what grows well here before settling on some consistent performers.
I'd love to grow some of the new varieties from this season again, and some more
of my favorites from 2012, but not enough space.  But I have seed for my favorites for
season 2015, so I have something to look forward to already!

Major goal for season 2014 - lay in a good supply of super hot powder!

Just a quick update on the wild Texas Tepins.  This one has the most ripe pods; all will have to go to the greenhouse when and if I need space for starts in party cups:

Great looking pics, Paul.  You've got some really interesting varieties going.  Can hardly wait for pods.
Thanks, John.  A good number of the interesting varieties
in my grow came you, my friend.  Thank you!   Pods seem a long
way off at this point so the waiting will drive me nuts!

Hi Paul .. Long time no talk to ! Nice GLOG has tons of stuff as usual. Glad o see you're still at it . Looks like you've perfected your craft !
Hey, Robin!  Good to know you are still kickin', buddy!
Haven't run across a 2014 blog for you, yet; are you
growing commercially this year?

The new lights have been a big help in the plant department;
they make me look good!

Paul..I'm jealous....your plants look  great !....and for only a month and a half. The MoA shows signs of being a strong performer. That will fork out and provide many node sections. Keep up the Good Grow......looking forward to the plants progression and your nifty photo skills...
Greg, always a pleasure to see a post from the master;
thanks for the visit and kind words, my friend!

I think the most amazing thing about the T5HO lights
is the incredibly thick stems the plants develop.  The
section below the cotys is lignified and striated already,
and the plants are very sturdy.  The MoA is no exception,
should be a great one - seed from Walkgood / Devv.

Jericson, you are a great sourced of positivity, thanks brother!

I'll start my annuum varieties in the aerogarden sometime in March.
Still waiting on the RocoPica to pop.  Beginning to think it won't.  Also,
a Datil in there hasn't taken hold, yet, so waiting for them.

Paul, those plants are looking great. Looking like your going to have a great garden this year. I'm hoping we all do after such a hard winter this year.  Glad to see more people that n me are playing with the Wilds this year.  Now just need to see some more of those great chow shots and your Glog will be up to it's usual, Outstanding level :D

Paul, I see I have been away from your glog way to long... so much has happened since the last time I visited here.. Your plants are looking fabulous, wouldn't change a thing to what your doing...

Hey, Bill!  I share your hopes, my friend.

Thanks go to Shane for sending me some great wild varieties
to try out this season.  Looks like I will wind up with one of
each to grow out barring any mishaps.

Howdy, James!  Day by day, not much seems to happen, but
when you look back over a week, there has been a lot of change!
Thanks for the positivity, my friend!

Thanks, J!  The Bonda is an awesome pepper.  Great heat and flavor!

The Reaper came to me just named as that.  Maybe it's some relative,
but I really don't know.  The seed came from Sawyer.

Glad the seeds made it there.

Wow Paul. I had a couple of pages to catch up on. You're really pumping out the stunning pictures. Keep it up. Everything looks great.
You are too kind, Jeff; thanks, brother!

Everything looks great, what's the brown eggs plant?
Thanks, brother!  The Brown Eggs seed came from GaGrowhead.  I saw
it in the glogs last season, but don't really know much about it.  It is a fast
grower, forks are extending and two flower buds hanging down.

Lol...50 days...45 days...46 days...Romy Mystery 24 days. I'm telling you watch out for that one, you'll be staring up at it before too long! Perfect plants Paul...but that is as expected. You're gonna have another banner year...and I am predicting big pulls with them overwinters!

Way to go with your starts Paul! It's looking like you're poised on the edge of a stellar season. When is your last frost date? I've still got another 6-8 weeks to go here, and getting a bit antsy... :P

Now, if it was only May and we could plant out!
The Romy Cross is growing fast, indeed.  I'm hoping
for a good season and some early pods from the OWs.

Things are moving right along with your own grow, as well, Rick!  I have a hard
time being patient until plant out.  Our climate here has changed a lot, and these
figures are for 1971-2000, but probably pretty close.

The 32˚F 90% date is May 6, and the 90% date for 36˚F is May 26, so we are still
at least two-and-a-half months from plant out   :mope:

Maybe we'll have a nice Spring.

Okay sweet guess I know when you get some pods on it
You could look up Jason's 2013 glog and find some pics of it, I'm sure.

Sup Jedi. These are the brown eggs. Seeds from peter @ semillas.de
Chinense with low heat, and no chinense taste. Taste has been described from apple, grape, raspberry, and watermelon mixed with a red bell flavor. Short plants, multi pods per node. A strange one for sure, but loved by everyone that tasted it. We cut them up in salads and snacked on them left and right.
