Grow List 2014 - Many new varieties and a few repeaters.
This is the third year of my original three year plan to grow a slew of different
types to see what grows well here before settling on some consistent performers.
I'd love to grow some of the new varieties from this season again, and some more
of my favorites from 2012, but not enough space.  But I have seed for my favorites for
season 2015, so I have something to look forward to already!

Major goal for season 2014 - lay in a good supply of super hot powder!

Just a quick update on the wild Texas Tepins.  This one has the most ripe pods; all will have to go to the greenhouse when and if I need space for starts in party cups:

I can't believe the pepper love floating around the forum!
Yes I can.  this is THP!

Annie dropped a nice package of her special grinds.  Awesome, girl!
We are having salmon tonight, so guess what goes on it?!  Do you think
there is enough in the envelope?  Very generous of you, Annie, thanks
from the bottom of my heart!

Delicious!

I bet that fish powder and SB sauce are great for all that salmon. All I have in the freezer at the moment is flounder, but every time I cook it, it gets a healthy dose of yellow pepper powder. They are perfect compliments to each other.

Yes, I'm a lucky guy!  Still waiting on the salmon.  Some
friends invited us out to dinner ast night, so it's postponed
until tonight.  I hope!  That yellow powder is screaming my name!

Dang Paul...you slowed your roll at the beginning of last season, and BAM! 2014 is off to a running start! I got some of that awesome sauce from Greg too...I gotta try that stuff out!
Hey Shane, thanks for stopping in!

I don't know about running, but Jason's advice about the Jiffy pellets really made a difference in how they work.  All these hooked in 5 or 6 days, and there are more bumps showing.  We're going out of town for 4 days, so when I get back there should be lots more, or they will all be dead!  I placed most of these in Party cups tonight.  First to pop - Giant White Habanero:

These Bhut Jolokia Yellow from Sawyer were next:

Left end, 7 Pot Burgundy, next, NagaBrain F2 (pod) from Gary, Right end, BrainStrain from Jamie 2012:

Got this awesomeness from Devv and Gary just today!  My grow is getting more interesting!

Nice going with your germ rates, and good on Jason for sharing his technique with the Jiffys...It's a great tip, and it makes sense to loosen up the soil in them before sowing because the peat was compressed so much before hydration. The roots need air as well as water and that's why I've always used bagged mix instead. Looks like you're advancing the throttle on your roll amigo!

I hope you and your family have a Happy Christmas, and a New Year full of joy and health. Cheers!
