Great mustache, bro : )

Good luck on those powders. I have been drying mine, too, so
now have some bags of dried pods to experiment with. I have
no idea where to begin! And here's good vibes for you getting
that new job! It's easy for chiliheads to pass the E&P test!

nice looking pods... sad to see peoples glogs shutting down... not used to dormat glogs..but i guess i can start over and pretend people like you just started...

good luck with the powders and with work...

Hey 3/5King 30's are a good time to upgrade on jobs and get your 401K in order and shove some gold bonds in it. , you still have most of the youthful energy of your twenties, so your new boss will know you can handle the load. If you want kids now is the time to think about having one or two, check with the wife to see if she wants some too. 40's are still good check your 401K buy some more Gold. So long as you have your health, your happy at work and your home life is good ,You have it made.

hahaha, Paul you just start mixin' I recommend mixing some hot chili's with some sweet varieties and then adding garlic and minced onion. I have another few ideas I'm tossing around too. Going to give them a try tonight and see how they turn out. Thanks for the good vibes, I need them. I'm so anxious it's killin' me.

Hey KD, I know it is sad to see the end is near....but mine won't be shutting down. I'm like 7/11 open 24/7! Next chapter will be putting the garden into hibernation. Then I will move on to documenting my overwintering process and compost pile...that should keep things moving along until the start of the next season's seed germination! Good luck with the rest of your year buddy.

Yeah, I used to be in the HVAC business for the last 10 years....not so much anymore. I am looking to change careers, I found out that HVAC is too risky of a field to stay in. Most places are small and they are all over the place like weeds in your garden. I have no retirement to speak of at the moment, just debt. Took me my first 30 years of getting in trouble and digging holes to realize that life is real and it's not going to take care of itself. The plan now is to get a decent job, pay bills and try to go back to school. Family will be a far thing of the future although men are good to go starting families in there late 30's because we usually date younger women lol. Relationships are not a priority of mine anymore...because non of them will last if you don't have all your ducks in a row anyway. Got married at 23 and just in march finalized the divorce....lmao it's been a roller coaster of a life but I think I'm finally learning what it takes to make it. I have a great family to fall back on with support and they are the only reason I'm still afloat ATM. I'm working on my health, happiness and career and that will be my focus for quite a while....and chili's of course (they're part of that happiness thing, you know.) Sounds like you've got a good thing going there yourself. Glad you stopped by my page. Those TS perfumes are almost all ripe so I should have some powder and seeds on it's way to you soon. Take care George.

It dosen't get any easier, at 60 my garden keeps me going despite my bad health. Really though growing peppers are a lot of fun although frustrating at times. Just wish I had more room to grow them and still have enough room for my other veggies.

We all need more room George! Lol, if you use containers they can grow all over the place. Deck, patio, front lawn, front room on a table in front of the window. Keep an open mind. You can keep pruning them to control their size.

Hey, did you ever get a chance to hook up that burger joint with some Brains? I've obviously been unable to supply our grinder place with Morugas, but I'm gonna take them some powder I made with purchased pods. Should be just as effective, if not more so.

No, he said he would need around a pound and I never harvested that much at a time. My growing year was dismal. I might bring him some dried pods though. Maybe some smoked ones too, he's also a big chilihead.

I'm sure he'd like that. Maybe some powder or sauce...he can slap those on the burgers!

Hey good luck on the job - sorry I'm late on that, but I've just got to checking in on some glogs... Anyway, keep us up on the soil test, I'm curious about that. Make friends with farmers too, get some manure...

Thanks Andy, I'm about to call that place I interviewed here in about an hour or so. "Fingers Crossed" I'll be posting the results of the soil test here once I get them. I'm just as curious to see what is actually going on in the soil. It's like being able to look down into a lake and see if there's actually any fish underneath you lol

UPDATE:

What's up Peeps. So yesterday was the final harvest of the season. We didn't strike gold or anything but it was the best harvest of the year. Might try and put a box or two up in the marketplace. We need funds for a light!

So now that the season has come to an end, we are going to be pulling up about 10 of the plants we grew this year. They will go in the shed for our first overwinter project....I can see this ending well...lol I'm excited, it should work out great and then next season we will be starting about 27 new plants. This year we had 39 plants on the one side and it was crowded, even with our stunted growth at the beginning of the year. So we will be planting only 30 on that side and 6-7 on the other side. This way we will have one less row and 1-2 fewer plants per row. Should work out better and allow more room for bigger plants...that is hoping we get it right this time!

Today I am going to go over to my buddy's and give all of the plants we are keeping a nice haircut and install the lights we are going to use for OWing. Then tomorrow we will be digging up the plants and putting them in their new home.

So I have a question for anyone reading this glog. We received some quality grade potting soil (about 30cuft) from a friend. This soil has been grown in for one plant cycle (aprox. 9weeks) they use it and then replace it every time. They feed their plants with nutrients and then flush the soil out a few weeks before harvesting. So now I have the soil. I don't know much about flushing and it's possible they were using some heavy nutes such as 30-20-30 or higher (not sure just assuming it's possible) does the flushing get rid of everything good in the soil? Is this soil completely void of nutrients and if so, how do I rectify the situation? I was thinking of using this soil for the OW's. If I don't use it for the OWing, I will be throwing it in the compost pile and I'm sure that would fix any nutrient/beneficial organism issue it might have...BUT if I do use it for OWing, (which I'm sure the plants do not use much nutrients in this stage) I want to make sure that it has a little something in there for them.

What are your thoughts guys/gals?

Here are some pics for you to check out while you think lol and somebody give me a bump because I've got a bunch I want to post!

This is our Tepin AKA "Tall Dog" it flourished with pods about a month ago but none have ripened and I'm not sure it will make it or give us any ripe pods...we will see.

Great harvest. Are the orange Bhuts the ones that are rare to find? I know there is an orange pepper that I think Matt reviewed and said was kinda rare.

Your soil should be ok might be a little low on the nutrients. They do have a soil tester that can tell you if the soil is completly washed out, then you would know what it might be low in and you can adjust it if it needs to enriched.
Nice Harvist by the way, I will be using more containers next season to give some of the raised beds a break. I need to dump in more compost into the beds, along with a boost of organic nutrients.
