That is some intense looking weather. Was it windy?

Here's a couple shots on my way home from work today, our first snow came last night....

This is another panoramic shot, the road on the left and on the right is the same road, and it's straight!

Windy yes.... For that area,no. Probably 20 MP/h. Great shots deville. It is mainly forest around here. This time ofthe year itis hard to get photos.

No Criteria, that's why I started it! Looks like you have a buddy in your pepper garden! Nice shot of that moth!

5 Minutes ago... Outside for a smoke and saw this Red Tail Hawk about 100 yards away. Man I'm liking this camera more and more. No tripod just standing still zoomed all the way in (30X).

Thank you all for doubling the number of pics in my personal wallpaper file. :D
Love that Praying Mantis.
Scovie that panoramic is awesome. 170°? Seriously no curve in the road?

Scoville DeVille, that's an amazing pic of that quail! I really love quails and don't think I've ever seen that species.

MGOLD, what new forum?

Justaguy, Probably 190º That is a straight stretch of road. When taking a pano with this camera, you start by focusing the camera, and starting left to right, you press the button, and slowly pan the camera moving L to R. You can set it however you want L to R, R to L. or even Up-Down or down-up.
I can't believe this thing only cost $300. I mean that's a good chunk of $, but all that it does, it seems to be a lot of camera for the $$$$$!

Omri, that species is "California Quail". They are everywhere around here. That Quail in the picture was the "Sentry" (lookout) he was standing on a fence, and below him on the ground was probably 30 of his flock. all foraging in the snow for seeds and what not.
They are supposedly good eating, tho I've never had one. I know that my wife would like to shoot them when they get in the garden. 30 Quail will seriously put the hurt on any garden!

Thanks to all for posting! (I still love that Mantis). Keep them coming!

I know right? It still blows my mind.
It has 1080p HD video, and it somehow utilizes that with photo imaging in Panoramic mode.
You can even take a video, and extract a photo out of it frame by frame. I haven't explored that yet... baby steps...

I suppose you could. You would have to pan a little faster, but, wait... I'll go have a smoke and try it! back in a few... until then,

Nope, 190º is about it. It shuts off when a certain amount of pixels are used. You might be able to stitch 2 together though.

Quails are EXCELLENT eating! so are partridges. used to "hunt" for common quails, especially while in service and in the middle of nowhere. good stuff. :)

I wondered if you might get it. The Christmas song "12 days of Christmas" "On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a partridge in a pear tree".
dumb joke, i know. but couldn't resist.

Oh sorry, not familiar with the lyrics. :)
Anyhow, they indeed very good eating. I did notice while searching online that "New World" quails aren't related to the "Old World" quails I know and love, but if they're anything like them, definitely worth catching. quail eggs are also delicious.
