photography Photo Album

MGOLD, what new forum?

There has been multiple talks of opening a "photo" area. I am just keeping my fingers crossed  . I am sure that this thread will last, but I would just love to have a place to categorize and such. Could bring a bunch of photo junkies out of the woodwork.

On another note, I love pear trees....

LOL MGOLD!
This is it! "Photo Album"! As far as categorizing, I think you would have to have a separate forum for "Wildlife", "Flowers", "Sunsets" etc. I'm not sure how that would work.
My intension for starting this thread was to have a place for foto junkies to post any pictures they like. There's many "Pepper Porn" threads, but I thought it would be inappropriate to post pictures of other subjects there.
I'm just learning my new camera, and I'll post pic's even if they're boring. We live in such a beautiful place, I love to share it! Others too, Omri lives where mankind originated, and the sunset pics from Spongey's balcony... I love it!
Seeing where other people live, and what they take pictures of. Does it get any better than that?

I hope Tony Stewart takes this thing! Go Smoke!!!!!!!!

Yea I am with you. I just thought they were thinking about doing it based on early comments in the pepper photo thread. Either way, this is definitely a great place for some amazing pics!

Also, doesnt look like your "learning". LOL!

I know right? It still blows my mind.
It has 1080p HD video, and it somehow utilizes that with photo imaging in Panoramic mode.
You can even take a video, and extract a photo out of it frame by frame. I haven't explored that yet... baby steps...

My phone does that too. Takes 1080 then you can edit the vid by taking pics out frame by frame. Have yet to try the panoramic on it.

Summer thunderstorm in 2010, we were standing under the back porch roof, the truck was about 20 feet/7 meters away from us. I actually lifted this image from a video. ~10 year Kodak digital...dunno-what-model...

edit- hmmm, not sure if this actually qualifies as a photo because it is a frame from a video. Prolly doesn't count....But it's cool just the same! OK- next time, a photograph. Thanks for your indulgence.

Beautiful place you live Lan! Gorgeos colors!

Thought it was about time I contribute. The wife and I took the dogs for a walk and the sky was this crazy dark blue

And because the dogs never get tired (even after a 45 minute walk) we had to play a bit of fetch. It was a great opportunity to work on my motion blur/action shots. Out of the hundred or so I took, this was one of the better ones. Used a slow shutter speed and a small aperture (about 1/15 sec and f20). Going to keep working on it...

REALLY need a telephoto lens. Looking at a 55-300. Hopefully I can fit it into the budget. Peppers seem to take a good chunk of my cashflow...

And finally

lol, YUP! We learn that when we get promoted to Sergeant.

But I just started getting into it about 3 months ago. I read a few books, but this dude http://www.youtube.com/user/PhotoClassPro has a podcast or just vids that help wayyy more because he walks you through stuff. Today I learned how to shoot a waterfall to make it look like its flowing. Pretty sick. Now to find a waterfall in eastern NC.....

I took the shot of the lake at about 11am in Ashboro NC at the NC Zoo. Everyone is trying to take pictures of the animals, and I was like, hey hey hey! Look at this scenery! It is amazing what going 3 hours west does to the trees.

LOL MG. I figured it was some "government training, Area 51 stuff".
It blows my mind that our fall colors were over about a month ago, and now we have 8 inches of snow... You have fall colors and it's beautiful there. kinda cool.
I want to learn about that waterfall shooting. we have some here not too far away, Thanks for the link!

Cheers MG!

Hey CA! Nice pics! That mule deer must be laying down, if it's a couple miles from my house....
