Professional football

With the American mid-west experiencing a touch of winter today, I'm really looking forward to the game at Soldier Field this afternoon.

The forecast last I heard was calling for cold temps with wind gusts up to 50 mph.

Interesting to see how the Pats offence matches up today against da Bear's D.

I love watching winter ball in the NFL.;)

And speaking of winter, the Vikes/G-men matchup was moved from a morning game to an afternoon game and moved once more to Monday night.

Then the inflatable roof collapsed at the Vikings facility, and the game will now be played Monday night in Detroit.

Haha, ya just gotta luv winter, dontcha!:)

GO PATS!!!!!!

They are the team to beat in the NFL right now. I would put the favorites right now being the Pats in the AFC and the Falcons in the NFC. Both are playing good ball.

GO PATS!!!!!!

Not that I wanna see duh bears win, but you like the the Pats? Why? Cause Brady went to MI?

Actually, I liked them when Bledsoe was there. But didn't really start pulling for them until Belichek was hired. More to do with Belichek's coaching style than anything. Doesn't look for just stars, but for contributors to his system. Perfect example is this years defense, no name RB's that may not beat you, but keep you honest.

Gotta love seeing the Packers lose to the worst team in the division. Not only did Karen Rodgers get knocked out of the last half of the game, but he looked like crap in the first half too. Hahaha! Shows how truly one-dimensional the Packers are.

Gotta love it MM? Nah. What I do love is Green Bay presiding over Wade Phillips and Brad Childress'es going-away parties...

and then there's this I guess...

 you guys going outdoor now?

Yeah, I was waiting for that. Now we have to play in Detroit. The game is going to be free to all, so that means Lions fans who happen to be division rivals. A FREE game in DETROIT? That should be interesting. Can you say RIOT? I say we cut the roof off the Dome and play football! We all know Favre can play in the cold.(not that he'll be around much longer)
I just hope this doesn't push the Vikes to L.A. They already got our Lakers.

Man, no kidding Musky. That'll definitely be some kinda crowd showing up... every troll from under the bridge will be free to roll out. Transplant MN and NY fans will be loving it though, should be an interesting game to tune in to.

Just a few more days until Wild Card Weekend, and there are some interesting matchups...

Jan 8 4:30 EST The Saints @ Seahawks.

I just can't see the 7-9 'Hawks mounting much of an effort against the defending Superbowl champs, and it's an embarassment to the league for the sub-par 'hawks to even be in the playoffs, let alone hosting a game there.

8:20 EST NYJ @ Indy

I'm expecting this game to be close up until about midway through the third quarter, with Indy then pulling away for the win.

But the Colts are pretty banged up and haven't been their usual dominant selves this year, but I still think they find a way to get it done.

Jan 9 1:00 EST Baltimore @ KC

The Ravens are battle tested and have a very veteran squad, versus the upstart Chiefs.

Though the Chiefs have made remarkable improvements this year over seasons past, the Ravens should prove to be a bit too much for KC.

4:30 EST The Pack @ Philly

Even though Michael Vick contended for the League MVP up until just a week or so ago, I'm guessing that the Green Bay D sends a steady bee-line of linebacker and cornerback blitzes Vick's way, just to keep him off balance and settling into any kind of a rhythm back there in the pocket.

If Vick decides to run, that'll probably spell more bad news for his all too mortal body and his already banged up quad contusion.

And though the Packers haven't been able to muster together much of a running game this season, Aaron Rodgers is still enough of a gifted passer to help the Pack squeak out a close one in Philly.

Haha, anyone watching the Seahawks/Saints game?

When The Saints went up 10-0 early I was thinking, "Oh Boy, here we go."

But with a minute to go to the half, the Seahawks are up 24-17, with the Saints marchin'.

At least it's an entertaining game.

That's all i really want.;)

Yeah it was looking like a blowout early on, but fortunately it has turned into a good game. 24-20 Seachickens right now.

Let's go Seachickens, and more importantly COLTS! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Marshawn Lynch! Wow, what a run. Colts up 7-0 at halftime, Mark Sanchez is still terrible.

Yeah great run there by Lynch! He broke eight tackles running down the field.

The Jets are now trailing the Colts 10-7 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Jet decided to go back to their power running game and are knocking at the Colts goal line.

Another tight game...gotta love it if you're a fan!

Curious...why the silence? I'm hearing crickets. I think I understand now...If a powerhouse NFL team can't beat the embarrassing and lowly Seachickens, maybe they shouldn't be in the playoffs either. I love when the world is turned upside down.

Haha, judging by your location Chileaddict, it might be safe to assume you could be a Seahawks fan.

I'd be curious to know what the local fans and broadcasters were saying the week leading up to the game...were even you guys true believers?

Even the experts on the Sports Illustrated staff all called for the Saints to romp over the hapless 'Hawks.

But I guess that's why they play the games and that's why I don't bet.;)

Still though, both the games yesterday were considered upsets, and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

Today I'd like to see Baltimore beat the Chiefs to set up a violent collision of forces next week at Pittsburgh.

Not sure who I'll be cheering for in the late game with the Pack at Philly...but that one looks very promising!

The Colts special teams is embarrassing. :mope:

Their kicker Vinatieri is money.

And don't be too hard on the Colt's special teams.

Aside from the kickoff return at the end Special Teams wasn't making a lot of mistakes.

The problem probably lies with the Colt's offense failing to show up for yet another first round playoff game.

Manning(9-10 playoff record)and company have had seven one-and-done first game exits in the playoffs.

Having inflated regular season stats doesn't always equate to an equally good playoff run, apparently.;)
