Rain, rain, go away...

Is anyone else having terrible weather this summer? We've had some sun but I believe it's rained here every day this summer and the 5 day forecast is all about more rain. After all the snow we got in the winter, I'm surprised there isn't more flooding going on. My peppers aren't suffering much but the tomatoes I have in the garden are all nearly shot, and the toms I do get have to be picked early or they get split or eaten by critters. This was supposed to be a big tomato sauce year for me, but it looks like I'll have to buy a bunch now:(
How's everyone else's weather?

You need to start chanting this...

Rain, Rain, Go Away, Head right down to AJs place...

dry as a bone here Potawie...I have had 1/4" rain the past 6 weeks...may get a trace today, but I expect it to be unmeasureable...

Always changing. We have a few really hot days, than a few cloudy days with an occasional rain shower, some harder some not so hard and so on.... So far, the plants seem to like it although it is obvious that they grow much more during the sunny periods. It's a strange summer, that much is for sure.

Sorry about your toms! I know I'd hate that and I'm sure you do. I hope your chili yield will make up for that and next season will be much better!

Not bad here in Southeast PA, all things considered. Plenty of sun. Hasnt been quite as hot or humid as usual for mid-summer.
We usually spend most of July and Aug in the upper 80's - lower 90's with a lot of hunidity.

I'm not complaining but I think my peppers like the heat and humidity :)

What? No Edouard leftovers yet, AJ?

But, yeah, typical Florida rain here....every f**kin afternoon the monsoons roll through.

After a late start to spring - it didn't warm up to normal temps until about the third week of May, we have had nearly perfect weather. A little dry the past two weeks, but that is normal for Cincinnati at this time of the year.

The rest of this week is suppose to be unusually cool with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Should be great for the toms to ripen!

had a horrible spring here on the west coast. Then got two weeks of sun and the garden went nuts. Then a week and a half of rain and nearly all my tomatoes split as well. Very disappointing. Now we are back in a week of sun. Hopefully the decent weather holds out!

its been a cold summer here the highest tempature outside hasn't been above 30c (85 fahrenheit) all year. and is usually around 23-24 most days last year it was warmer :P

We had a REALLY wet June and early July. That actually made my chanterelle mushroom searching VERY eventful. (I have no shortage of tasty gourmet shrooms. I've got alot of bolete mushrooms as well........YUM!!) However, now it's been pretty dry for a few weeks since then. Hardly any precipitation at all. My pepper plants are actually loving all of the warm sun right now. It's normal to be pretty dry here around this time of year though. Come Sept-Oct we start to get alot of rain again.

Had A great week about ten days ago now its back to rain/overcast and the occasional glimpse of the sun..its been a lousy summer :)

Had a light sprinkle this morning but wishing Potawie nice dry weather and AJ lots of rain... we're doing ok here so I'm not complaining..wet cold spring but things are improving.

Up buy the lake in Ohio it rained at least 2 days a week had a good one last night. The sereanes went off was told a Tornado was spotted, but just got high winds. Know they say cooler weather and low humidity which can set off showers. Tomatoes in ground not doing good, chili's in containers doing ok

LET IT BURN

The left coast of Florida finally had a dry day!!!!!!!!I'm very concerned I may be on the verge af a problem similar to AJ's!Two weeks straight of monsoons, one thing to be upbeat about is plants are getting flushed nicely with quality water, instead of that putrid **** coming out of my faucets I won't even drink!

Just pack that rain toward AJ and me I have 3 inch cracks in my pasture and today it had a cool front move throiugh it got down to 98 F. This week it been in 100's and yesterday broke record 107. So if you don't want it We will take it

I'm hoping for a better summer this year. Last years summer in my area was very out of character. lots of rain and no temps over 35C.

We are being told to get ready for a hot summer this year, so i'm excited.....

Sounds like you had a really bad night R.B..never really asked how many plants do you have outdoors? :)
