Sandwich of the Month

Hey y'all. A recent discussion with THP about Cuban sandwich's in another thread has inspired me to begin this thread.

What is a sandwich? According to wiki...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich

I myself shall endeavor to post a Sandwich of the Month for every month. This month I tip my hat to one of my favorite sandwiches, The Cuban.

While I encourage y'all to post up your Cuban for SOTM, for the sake of popularizing the thread, feel free to post your sandwich. Be it BLT, turkey sub, gyro, po'boy, etc.

Some rules.

1 ~ Meet the criteria as linked above according to wiki.

2 ~ True, burgers are sandwiches but as we have other threads devoted to them, we will not include them here in this thread. No burgers.

3 ~ List ingredients and methods of how the sandwich was put together.

4 ~ No matter if it is a classic reuben or tuna salad, include a heat ingredient.

5 ~ Pics are mandatory. Talk is cheap. Show us the money!

6 ~ No tortillas. We have taco threads already, and that also means no stinkin' "wraps".

7 ~ Have fun.

I'll post up my sandwich shortly.

Bon appetit!

A good rub for pork (ribs or butt roast)

2 Cups brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, black pepper and of course, Red Savina powder.

You forgot one 'thang.

Yeller' mustard splooged and massaged into the meat first and then the rub.

I don't do pork without it.

You can't taste the mustard after the smoke but it does something to it as I compared a few times with same cuts during same

smoke, one wit' and one witout' mustard.

Mustard won 3 out of 3 times.

A touch sweeter? More porky savory?

I couldn't nail it down zackly what it was but it was in there.

Nothing to see here....slicing shall be in the FLOG ;)

CH you are a meat master.

That sandwich proves that there is no meat that you can't beat.

Is that mayo on the sammich?

Alabama style white bbq sauce is mayo based with vinegar.

And damn good on bbq.

That sammich rates a goodern' hell x 2.

And for the record.

You taught yourself applying a few simple tips and being open minded.

Smart!

YES.... Is mayo. I thought it would go well put some sour sauce,, but I had available, I thought to put mustard, but then maybe not. These days buy some as you advise me.

Dang those look great Cypress - great color! Are you using different woods in your smoker like apple or cherry hickory etc...?

Currently I'm using a local hard wood, especially for smoked, Anchico and quebracho colorado.

Amiright?    not understand

Scovie is a cunning linguist.

"Amiright" is an internet term.

In this case it is used as an affirmation request or to say "do you agree?"

To which you would answer with an internet fist bump.

He would respond to that by posting a pic of him throwing up gang signs.

The proper response for you then would be "werd!"

The conversation would then come to an end with Scovie posting a chest pic with his man egg titties.

True story.
