Silver Surfer's 2010 Grow

Thanks all.

It has been 17 days since my last plant pics, so time for a little update,

Aconcagua No stakes for these next time, only a cage will do.
I'm sure it would make larger pods if it didn't set so many at once,

Aji Amarillo This one doesn't like the heat and has produced very few pods so far.

Aji Cereza This one is finally starting to ripen a few pods.

Aji De La Tierra Quite a few pods but slow to ripen.

Antillias Caribbean Hopefully some should ripen soon.

Bhut Finally starting to produce something.

Burkina Yellow Scotch Bonnet Actually I'm not sure what this is.

Dorset A look from below.

Douglah It's starting to set a few. In ground with full sun looks like a different plant vs those in containers.

Gold Nugget This one is a pain to pick. It has heat but not a flavor I like.

Jaloro These eventually go red if you can wait that long.

Joe's Long Cayenne Has a fairly steady output of decent sized pods.

Lemon Drop If this one decides to ripen a bunch at once it could take a while to harvest.

Marconi Red Another that demands a cage for support. It has snapped its stake and fallen flat twice.

Piment d' Esplette Medium heat, but I don't care much for the flavor.

Punjab A slow producer.

Red Savina Still waiting on a ripe one.

Yellow 7 Pod Another slow producer for me.

Yellow Habanero Looks pretty orange for a yellow variety.

I'll try to update some more plants tomorrow if I have time cause it's already time to pick again.

The garden looks great. How do you like those Aconcaguas. I didn't realize they were heavy produces. I might have to give them a go one of these seasons.

Thanks Jimmy.

AHH! Now I want a Jaloro next year.
Does it actually tast like a Jalapeno, SS?
Very mild when yellow, and has more of a sweet chile flavor to me. I'll taste a red one within the next few days, forgot to taste the last one. They're more thinner fleshed that a regular peno too.

Thanks Josh. They taste like a sweet thinner walled mild bell. If you like cooking with some sweet peppers, these would do nicely.

Looking really good SS! Very happy to see that your peppers are doing well indeed! Keep up the pics please, I really enjoy them. My plants are still in the pre-pods phase  Washington weather...BAH! :banghead:

Thank you gator. You'll be pickin' pods soon, hang in there. :)

Fantastic crop and pics; looks like you've got a nice sized property.
Thanks. Yeah, more than I can keep properly maintained.

Awesome pics SS, are the flowers for looks or pest deterrents?
Both, I think they look nice and the only bugs I've seen lately are stinkers.

Looking super SS.... I'm with Grimus ... so you must feel the marigolds really help keeps pests away.

Peace,
P. Dreadie
Even if they weren't an effective pest deterrent I think they add a nice splash of color to the garden. :)

Nice plants you got there SS
Thanks Bjorn.

Someday I hope to have such a neat garden, and no weeds. Looking great!
Thank you POTAWIE, I'm enjoying leaving the hoe in the garage this season. :)

Todays harvest. Maters are bout done for. Blight and heat have taken their toll.

Removing some weight from the Aconcaguas and Marconi chilies should help some with their support issue.
