After the initial spate of pods set by the Aji Oro it dropped quite a few flowers, but it continues to produce.

I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should pluck flowers or let them take its course in the hoophouse. I know my season is extended with the house. Usually the just flower, drop, flower, drop. Never had to think about it. I have plants already flowering and are only 8in tall.

How many times have the plants forked Chuck? I usually prune the blossoms at the first and second fork to let the plant grow a bigger root ball and leaf canopy to support pod production. Then I stand back and let nature take its course. I might make an exception with the Scotch Bonnets if they look strong enough since they have such a low growing habit. Good luck! Cheers Paul. It's been the usual thing... Weather Central is being run by someone with both hands in casts... They make a small error at the controls and overcompensate wildly due to their poor motor control. Either that or as Robin Williams said, "It's weather by Sibyl." The chiles have been transitioning to their outdoor home and doing about as well as I expected... Most of them are jettisoning their huge lower leaves in favor of smaller, tougher ones... Especially the ones that got the most roughly handled by that surprise hailstorm.

I suppose the near 100 degree weather that same week may have had an impact as well.

Hi all! Last night was the last time overnight low temps were forecast for the low 40s so this morning the gloves came off! [emoji2] The plants in the airpots are also in their final places for the season. I just have to cut in the emitters and set up the drippers for the potted plants and I'm pretty much done barring weekly feedings. [emoji106]

Heh, I hear ya bro'... We had a bit of a "roller-coaster" start this season didn't we? Still, no permanent damage and now that the veggie garden is all seeded and transplanted it's time for a short break with a cold one... A mint julep in this case. Supper tonight was our first real harvest from the veggie garden... Puchu Jeon... savory pancakes made with garlic chives, Doenjang and Gochujang, and dipped in a soy/rice vinegar sauce.
