food The Drunken Chef

Looks great Jay T. - love a pan fried steak. Hope that you post some Pho pics. I make Pho every couple of weeks. We also have a Vietnamese restaurant about a mile away from the house and sometimes get carryout. Not sure how mine will compare to yours but you can't go wrong with a good Pho :)

Thanks guys. The steak was terrific tasting too. Just enough of the marinade taste came through with the crust from the peppadew cilanto chile rub, and the green chile sauce on top...Yum.

Buddy, will do on the Pho pics. I think I am going to make that tomorrow as it looks like a snow day for me. They are expecting another six inches tonight, so no block laying tomorrow.

now thats a tasty slider! great homemade chile bread, but gotta agree with JT on the drunken chef part with the capped bottle of beer :P at least you didnt have keystone or busch beer in the pic...so thats a plus

mmmmm, love a good steak! :drooling:

I was feeling guilty as I think the steak was a bit gourmet for the Drunken Chef with all that marinade and all. Here is something in the true spirit of The Drunken Chef. This is what happens after drinking all the beer and having to switch to wine. You can come up with some pretty wild ideas. I give you the Drunken Cordon Bleu Sandwich:

Marcie - an excellent start!

JayT - sorry, that sammich looks like something you picked up at a theme park. The steak, though? MMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................... drooooool.............

Bwahaha look at that frozen chicken patty sammich

Just something fast - nothing flashy. Baked up some bread today and used some of the dough to make a few buns. (Not so pretty - but tasted good!) Buns have chopped jalapeno, cayenne, and red pepper flakes.

Some spicy turkey burgers on top of a bleu cheese spread and topped with some BBQ sauce made and canned by my grandpa.

Are these plates precious or what?

Sorry for the poorly executed photos!

See. I told you turkey burgers can taste good. Nice work, Marcie!

Very nice Marcie. I see you are an accomplished Drunken Chef already. Not sure about the drunken part though, the jury is still out as the cap is still on the beer. We're watching you Norton!

Now onto tonight's festivities. Thai Porterhouse with Green Chile Sauce.

I marinated this in a bunch of Thai stuff, cilantro, green onion, Thai basil, garlic, ginger, jalapeno (I was out of Thai peppers), lime juice, olive oil, and peppadew/cilantro rub, and fish sauce.

The beer is from a local brewery here called Appalachian. It is called Hoppy Trails IPA

Tomorrow: Pho

eww dude, im telling everyone you drank a beer I used to hate making

JT. It's been a few days.
Upon reflection, I have to say that your chicken cordon bleu sammy embodies the true essence of Drunken Chef.
I know it's a fake patty.
It's probably ham bought on sale.
99 cent hamburger buns.

AWESOME!!!! It's all good. You were drunk.

And being JT, you probably had someone else make it for you, while you were fanned with large palm fronds and fed grapes by scantily clad Egyptian women.
(too early for an Egypt joke???, if so, substitute it with Iraqi women).
