food The Drunken Chef

Guess it is going to be Costco Rib-eyes tonight. They also had NC Jumbo Lump crab, wild caught salmon and wild caught Halibut! Going to be a good next 3 days.

I was at Costco today.

I saw that same sockeye for $8.99 a pound.

The meat was mush.

That just ain't right.

They also had fresh head off sockeye @$4.99 a pound.

Just as sad.

That sucks, stuff here was very firm and perfecto. I made a small piece of Halibut for the kids and it was like butter grilled and only added salt.

They have good deals on potatoes too. Good for, you know, shooting racoons, possums, or Bears.

True Story.

If you aim a hose at a dog and squirt them with water, most will run away. But there are those few exceptions where the dog will instead try to fight it by biting at the water stream... just like Bear, that guy, and the potato gun.

I love this thread! JT and TB you guys are a trip....

I'm on my way right now. Will post some pics of a semi-wasted grill session. Been drinking beer, and I have a bottle of Lambrusco in the fridge.... could be a rough morning.

And prost! to you sir!

Prost und Guten Apetit!

We relegated ourselves to the little grill. This is made from the drum of a clothes dryer. Today we used wood coal which we buy each year up the street. They actually have a "wood coal" festival. They make a huge smoldering pile, you driver your tractor or whatever up there and take what you want... this is after many beers. Here's a picture of the Holzkohle party:

Fire gets started with normal wood then the coal is dumped on top

Cool grill, you can set the grill where you want based on what your are cooking and how the fire is looking.

Dude, lederhosen in Miami is not advisable... I don't care what side of the fence you are on :P

Thanks, it was a good meal. Germany is a beautiful country, I like it.... except the lack of spicy food, but I'm on a mission to take care of myself on that issue.

This week (I'm on vacation) we are going to fool with Pizza crust recipes. Drunk I'm sure...

Mahlzeit!

We have similar adjustable grills known to cook and bbq what we call Santa Maria style.

You have a name for yours?

Das Flamendryer?

Sweet Ausmith!
Where are you in Deutschland? My dad was born in Abenberg, just outside of Nurnberg. I've been able to go there twice. To see my Oma and Opa. (years ago).

Welcome to THP! And espescially the DC.

Tip back a Lowenbrau for me, (the real one).

So, you gonna post some food or what?
