and here is the sauce after Brandon whisked in the butter over a low heat:

(I kinda snuck in some on my XXX sauce (jolokia/hab) for a bit more kick)

Here is Bradley, well protected, preparing the wings:

They took turns at the fryer till they were all browned and ready to go. They were very proud!

Since they like teriyaki sauce (they prepared that too) and Tim and I like the hot stuff......we decided on individual dips along side the crispy wings. Here is the money shot!:

You were safe...as long as you didn't get your fingers anywhere near his face...

Bradley....enjoying his creation! (he got a bit dirty in the process!)

And here is Brandon......he said his wings "rocked!" I think that's a good thing!

And there was much celebration...................UNTIL:

Oh well.....just goes to show you just how LITTLE 8 pounds of wings really is!

We had an absolute blast. I'm so proud of the twins. They did an awesome job!

Looks like you had lots of fun! But why didn't you simmer the wings in the sauce or toss them real good?

Mostly because the twins like teriyaki....and we prefer the HOT...

Plus, I feel the wings get a bit soggy if they sit too long in the sauce...or with the sauce ON them.

It goes like this:

crispy wing......dip in sauce.......EAT!

repeat...

repeat...

repeat...

repeat...

I hear ya, but if you want, try this: Get one of those big metal salad bowls or whatever they are for and toss the wings in those like you are flipping an omelet over and over until coated good, and they stay crispy too. The wings with sauce dabbed on top taste like they are missing the final step to me.

Most of the wings got "dunked"...the "dabbed" shot was for the paparazzi....
Cool dude. I'm sure they were good.

Yep I will be here. Got the buck yesterday so I am home and waiting for the throwdown. I am thinking smoked venison...

congrats on the buck! how many points ?

No. Well, I did dress it, but there's a guy that my dad went to school with that takes it skins it strips the loins, then cuts the steaks and roasts and gives me the rest in ground burger. For $45 it's worth it.

I do not believe that my laziness constitutes a fail.

you got that right! its not being lazy, its being smart! for $45 its worth it not dealing with the silverskin. as long as boneless & mostly SS/fat free. around here they charge $75 for the basic.

BTW JT & paul great looking wings!!!!!!! its been along time since I've had wings :(

THSC BBQ wings

My tribute to neil

6-8 chicken wings
2 TBS NagaSav BBQ Sauce
1/2 tsp fresh ground Pepper Pepper
140g apple puree
1 ground allspice
Zest 1/2 orange
1 tsp sea salt
2 cloves freshly ground

Mix all ingredients and marinade at least 12 hours.

Cook as you want to. Grilled is great, slow BBQ over fruit wood is better.

Dollop another 3 TBS NagaSav BBQ Sauce and toss until well combined.

Foo foo to your hearts content.
