food The Drunken Chef

Who writes down recipes?

I gotzteded it all right here up in my noggin'.

I never used to either ... but more often than not D is cooking my food while i'm working at my desk (off the end of kitchen), and she likes to use a recipe ...

I have noticed as a perk, it can be fun to thumb through the box and be reminded of stuff ...

It kind of turns out to be such that D cooks the majority of the staples and I just stow off w/ some of the ingredients and tinker w/ skunkworks stuff that she would never eat ...

I'd be VERY oppressed having to eat within her constraints - holy shit, yeah ...

Tuna is the chicken of the sea.

Manatee is the cow of the sea.

Pistachios are the clams of the nut world.

And now this... Cicadas are the shrimp of the land. Check this link!

Just in time for grilling season. So break out the beers and kabob skewers. And whip up a batch of wing sauce.

I haven't seen cicadas in this area, but have seen them in the southern OH area, fo sho. My aunt's yard is so shaded she has a hard time getting grass to grow, so it's easy to see the tons of huge holes they leave in the ground when they come out. However, I won't be making a trip just to see them again. Let us know how they taste after you try them out, Sum.

in tn we got them hard, we would get a 7 year batch that was insane. all the vietnam people would fill buckets from the trees of them and eat them. they would be so bad they would cause accidents on the highways. fire up a weed eater and your entire stick would be covered. you could here them inside your house. and then when they died there would be piles of death under the trees the smell was crazy!

Are you SURE you're from Texas??????? Dang, TB, you musta spent way too much time in da dry ditch!

you aint ate no beef in like 4 months! and no "real" texan has ever heard about fish tacos let alone quinoa.   so are you even really living in texas? or are you some 18 year old girl faking all these posts from nebraska?  if your answer is yes to the second question you can text me .

Amen to the quinoa, sic. But fish tacos? Fish tacos are all over Texas. Still, so are crawfish, and crawfish boils. And catfish. A man won't eat catfish, crawfish or beef definitely ain't a real Texan.
