Yesterday we went to my favorite farmers market for its opening. Got a little carried away. Then went to Whole foods and supplemented with steak and baby backs. The plan was to rub the ribs with BBQ spice last night and slow cook all day today. That didn't happen. My Honey cooked the steak, corn on the Cobb, we had fresh bread and butter and I fell asleep.
Today I had to plant the 3 basils, lavender and chives I bought which required two trips to the garden store - 11am on a beautiful sunday was not a good time to go.
Soooo, plan B. Inspired by the throw down, I marinated the ribs Asian style. Soy, ginger, black bean paste, fish sauce, garlic, sherry, honey, lime juice and Thai peppers. In heavy foil to braise for a while, then will sear at a high heat to glaze.
Roasted some baby beets and peeled, will finish with spring onions.
All while enjoying another vino verde
Oh, what do I do with these purple asparagus? Managed to get every size mixed in one bunch. The Honey made fun of me.
