The General Taco thread. All things taco.

So, I've been wandering around the site trying to find a general taco thread. I'm sure it exists but the only thing I ran across was taco tuesdays and tex mex. I have tacos whenever I can. To hell with Tuesdays! So this is a thread to post your badass tacos. Recipe or not. Just put up a pic. All tacos welcome.

My dinner
slow cooked, dry rubbed, and smoked pork shoulder shredded and built with some of Salsa Lady's Chipotle BBQ!

Didn't know beef smoked well except for brisket, which is muscle. Was it dry? No lies. Just curious.

No but it would have been if I left it on the smoker longer. For that cut I have to take it off after a few hours and wrap it tight in foil and put in the oven, or finish in the slow cooker

Getting back in the swing of things, Tacos tonight. Plain and simple, Beef ones, chicken ones. Some fresh guac, diced tomatos, refried beans, sour cream and cheese. Flour and corn tortillas. Topped with habanero chipotle sauce.

I make a pit beef style thing with top round on the smoke sometimes. Inject it with beef broth, or brine it for a day, then into the smoker at 225F until it is 130F. Makes delicious sandwiches.

Booma, I wait for a post when your food is anything less than outstanding. Everyone has a post or two with less than par dishes/pics (never once me though) It just can't happen with you. Awesome basic tacos!

I was under that impression too, but I've been schooled by the local BBQ gurus that it's all in the prep. Turkey is something I thought would be really dry if smoked, but if you inject it with tons of brine and juice and stuff it full of veggies it can come out really moist/tender out of the smoker. (and makes bitchin tacos!)

I was told that beef is all about the marinade - soaking it with a brine/wine/juices/etc - if it's soaked enough it'll be tender off the smoker.

And now this public service announcement.

BOOMA GOES THE DYNAMITE!

Boom kicked major chingon ass on those tacos.

Now I'd like to quote my dearly departed grandmother whom used to utter 2 simple words to describe looking at tacos like that.

"f**k yeah!"

Seriously Booma - if you ever open a taco truck, in any state, I will go there and eat them. I 2nd the comment that pretty much everything you post looks authentic & mouth wateringly good.
