The beer part is easy (Summit), but kinda like writer's block, I'm experiencing "cooking block" right now. Nothing screams Minnesota more than Tater Tot Hotdish, but I can't see anyone except Wheebz voting for that. Hopefully I can come up with something better that I haven't already done. We'll see...

Nope. Not wrong. Of course my first thought was homemade bratwurst, but I already did homemade sausage at least a few times. I don't want to play it out. Plus deer season is right around the corner so I'll (hopefully) be making a lot of sausage soon anyway. I'm looking for something that I haven't already done here but still represents Minnesota. It's all good. I just need to put my thinking cap on.

ok I think I'm in. Is there a POL for this one or did I miss it?  Mother and Grandmother were both born in Germany, so I feel this TD calling my name.

This is just the discussion thread. At some point today THP will create the official TD thread for the month, and post the official rules in it - that's where the PoL will be stated. Periodically check today to see if the new thread has been posted - he usually posts it some time after noon, Eastern time. (And "some time after noon" can be many hours later - just keep an eye out for it!)

Great, thanks

So question I know it says to use just one brand of beer, I'd like to use my own home brew for the main dish and a local beer from a brewery in my town for the side. Can we get a little leeway on that? I mean you go to Oktoberfest wouldn't you want to sample as many brews as possible? :)
