I see. Maybe we should rename the TD to "hors d'oeuvres" with sides if you want to include a dip.

We are dealing with semantics. I know. But to me "finger food" means anything you can shove in your mouth with your fingers in a few bites. Whereas, "hors d'oeuvres" means something prepared... which could potentially be dipped... in a side.

I knew this was your intent from the beginning. I'm just trying to help clarify it for everyone. ;)
 
I'm sure we can include dips and salsas, I like finger food better than horsie dorvers or whatev lol. More open, like you said. Pick it up, eat it. Enter it. Finger food.

So anything you can eat with your fingers. I can eat soup with my fingers but it's a bit messy.

Or is it a size thing. Like pick it up with your fingers and gone in a few bites?

I think this is a fair definition. It allows many foods to be made into finger foods, but keeps the larger hand foods out with four bites being too big. This is about making your favorite finger foods or micro versions of your favorite foods. Invent something. Whatever.

Also dips, salsas, and spreads etc. are allowed, but not with chips, because then you are entering the dip and not the finger food. The part you pick up is the entry. The dip etc. is the accompaniment.

I'm sure some of you will be creating huge spreads and multiple finger foods, but for this competition, you can only enter one. So what do you think is the ULTIMATE finger food for the Super Bowl? Get creative. Looking forward to this.

I think we will allow Monday posting so you can get your food and drink on!

It sounds like an order of assembly issue.

Ex:

Salsa with a side of homemade chips... cool. Salsa with a side of store bought chips... uncool.

But store bought chips laid out on a tray with a pile of awesome on it and baked for a bit... cool.

[If I have this wrong, then anyone making bagel bites better be making their own bagels.]
 
Sum I was saying it should all be cool. Just saying I would like to see homemade chips. :)

Like in the burger comps how the homemade buns get props. But not required.

Booma makes bagels. :)

That's always the case with me. I love to see it all homemade. Not mad or anything, this is all fun and games for me, but somehow that salsa/tortilla chip thing threw me for a loop tonight... and that's not even what I was thinking of doing. I'm weird.
