Venus, Saturn, and the Crescent Moon form a triangle....

AlabamaJack

eXtreme
this is from my farmers almanac and I thought I would share...

"The planets and the Moon are putting on a show! For a few nights, brilliant Venus, bright Jupiter, and the crescent Moon blaze in a striking conjunction. They first formed their brilliant triangle last night, 15 degrees high, in the southwestern sky. The three celestial objectives will continue to stay close together as seen from Earth even though the planets are millions of miles away."

I will take a look see tonight and see if it is as pretty as I expect...

I saw that last night....it's really cool to see. Venus is the brightest one, of course.

I was looking for that last night but could not even find the moon and it was a clear night, had to pick my dad up at midnight from airport. Not so clear here today, might snow...

It was WSW, about a third of the way up from the horizon.

I saw it here in OZ and it was pretty cool....

It is a smiley face in the southern hemisphere with Jupiter and Venus above the moon...

I have been told that the planets are below the moon in the northern hemisphere. Is this true???

EDIT: this is how We Aussies saw it. Moon smile

AJ - you must of had a brain fart when you wrote the thread title, saturn, but you know cuz you said jupiter in your post.

I saw it last night, it was ok, I mean to the naked eye all it looked like was 2 brighter stars close to the moon. now if I had a telescope it would of been really cool to look at!

other than that I always have the big dipper right overhead in my location.

from where I'm at (while looking at it) the planets were on the south east side of the moon with the moon frowning away from the planets.

I have been known to have brain farts and you know the older I get the closer they seem to be together

I'm gonna go look right now ....

looks like it will be about an hour or so before the moon gets close to the two...

I missed it last night as it was too cloudy - just now had a look and they're a long way from being a smilie face but Venus sure is bright!

was clear here but the moon didn't get as close to the planets as I thought it would before I went to bed...

Thats cool Moyboy here it is opposite... I took my kids out last night to look at with a telescope then they wanted take a look at the moon which was very cool they were impressed to see the craters and that it is really a whole moon.. guess they never thought of it being that way... then it was "theres the little dipper ", "I wanna see the North Star" then the neighbors house .... "get back inside kids sheesh"
