vincent's 2013 season ***10/22/13 SUPER HUGE MEGA 40ish PICTURE UPDATE***

Well well well. Here we are again folks. Spent the last couple days getting everything all set up how i would like it to be (heat mat temps, lights hanging in right position, and the never ending task of finalizing a grow list. But i think ive done it...lol. i will be using a hydrofarm 4ft, 6 bulb, T5 fixture along with a heat mat set to88 F. I did not soak seeds overnight as i did last season so ill see if it makes a difference. Im putting litt. Ms. Oriah down for a nap at the moment but will post the final grow list here shortly

Pics to follow my friends.

A couple days early for a weekly update but I started a little experiment of sorts and wanted to show everyone.

The experiment is: I am growing 2 Yellow Scotch Bonnets. One is in a 5 Gallon Root Pouch, the other in a 5 Gallon Plant Warrior Container(http://www.horticulturesource.com/plant-warrior-container-5-gallon-p8818)

They are both in the same growing medium, same nutrients/fertilizer, same amount of time spent outside. This is basically just something I wanted to know for my own curiousity. I used the root pouches last season with great results and the plant warrior containers are just a little cheaper. Here are the pictures of these two scotch bonnets

Here are a few pictures of the other plants, I have them inside due to storms headed my way tonight and tomorrow.

Also, any yellow looking dust on the leaves is pollen from being outside

Naga Viper

7 Pot Barrackpore

Yellow Billy Boy Douglah

Jalabanero with buds and flowers everywhere

Beni Highlands

Will add a few more after a bump.

Thanks for looking,
Vincent

Vincent,

Great photos! Your Sepia Serpent and BB Douglah's are doing so much better than mine! I've been fighting bloody spidermites for the past 2 months. I think I'm finally rid of them though.

Can't wait to compare pods this summer!

Thanks. And yea i battled spider mites last year, they are a nightmare. As far as pictures go, they've all been taken with my galaxy s3.

And yes we'll have to compare pods as I'm sure there will be some variance, especially in the serpents.

Can't wait to try the Sepia Serpent though I have to be honest, I'm a bit scared. SS said they are nasty.

Great photos, will be following your glog all summer long!

They are brutal. I bit into one while I was at SS garden and I'm not ashamed to say that it had me on my knees. Probably the hottest thing I've ever had

Wow Vincent. Excellent little experiment you have going on there with the root pouches vs plant warrior pots. So far it looks like the plant warrior is kicking the root pouch's butt. Definitely going to follow this and see how it pans out. I might have to buy some of those for next year.

Well to be fair, the plant warrior scotch bonnet was already just a little bit bigger for whatever reason. So they didn't exactly start off the same size, but I am looking forward to seeing the end results.

Plants are looking great Vincent! Good job man. :)

Thank you good sir

Those plants are looking stupendous! How much longer until you can move them outdoors permanentely for the season?

Given that the Sepia Serpent is an F4 currently and there are so many of us growing it, I'm really looking forward to seeing how much phenotypic variation the pods display. I have five growing and so does Jason (GA Growhead). Are you growing just the one you showed above, or do you have more than one?

Lookn' good!

Temperature wise they can stay outside full time, I have just been bringing them in if it's supposed to storm.

I have 3 serpents growing and I am also very interested in seeing how much variation there is as well

I sent some seeds to Hammerfall too, so if he started any, that would be another place to check.

I'm waiting till after tonite, still suppose to be in the lower forties. But after that its looking prefect! Such a good feeling to have them outside. I can't wait to plant in and watch them grow!
Never heard of the plant warrior pots. Will check them out.

ITS UPDATE TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Not much has changed in the plant world...I've moved 10 of the 31 plants into either 5 or 7 gallon root pouches filled with peat moss, perlite, and mushroom compost.

Oh and you will notice that alot of my plants are missing some leaves, that is due to Jamison's post/thread about pruning and the effects it has on growth. I had never done it before so I was inspired by him and decided to give it a go. Enough chit-chat

Carolina Reaper (7 gallon root pouch)

Not Black Naga Cross from Chris (CMPMAN)(5 gallon root pouch)

Billy Boy Jonah (5 gallon root pouch)

Sepia Serpent****WOO HOO****(15 gallon root pouch)

7 Pot Barrackpore

Chocolate Bhut X Cajamarca (5 gallon root pouch)

Bahamian Goat (5 gallon Plant Warrior)

Scotch Bonnet Yellow (5 gallon Plant Warrior)

Sepia Serpent (Different than the other one, this one is still in a 1 gallon)

Billy Boy Douglah Red

That's my limit of 10, if anyone would be kind enough to give me a bump I'll add some more.

Thanks for looking
Vincent
