I just went though the whole thread for the first time to see what all the hype on the Heckleburger was.  Man, that thing looks amazing!  Too bad it didn't make it in...

On the beef burger it was so close a call..  the homemade kraut, Hab mustard and rye bread  on  SnF's Patty Melt   was just too  hard to beat ..   I would dive into  Musky's State Fair Burger in a heatbeat though.. At least until the fried cheese and meat stopped it.. lol.
Gotta give Grant props for admitting to lightly sucking the meat sacs  in his process description.

I had to go with Musky's walleye  burger because I know just how awesome fresh N Ontario Walleye tastes .

I'm serioisly thinking to take a travel to America to pillage all that goodnees! Passing through Australia of course.
One of the most spectaluar TD ever, or maybe it's just that you guys are much better than italians about hamburgers.
All are winners!
Just chosen Key cause his buns look really good, bacon cheeseburger is a winner for me, fresh homegrown tomato slice is a thing that i really like on sandwiches in general... Also 4 patty tower is so badass!
And Chris, love chorizo, ranch and pico mix!
But all are winners!

This was some real stiff competition. For the 100% beef I ended up voting for my own burger. SnF's patty melt was very tempting and Muskys state fair was right up my fat kid ally, but all in all I really enjoyed the burger I made. I hate voting for myself but after looking at all of them again it was the one I wanted.

For alternative, it was between D3's brisket/pan and Musky's walleye. I really love walleye and that sandwich made me want one real bad, but I went with D3. The meat sounded and looked great. The toppings also really complemented the whole thing I thought.

Great job everyone, and I look forward to the weekend. I think I will take more time with my pics this weekend to put my best foot forward. Even though porn is great (even the lighting).

muskymojo's walleye burger is the one burger I was in AWE of! Simple perfection on a plate. Nothing over the top just perfect choices and execution.  Lightly toasted squishy roll, homemade jalapeno tartar on a golden brown fresh walleye burger with crisp lettuce and squeezes of lemon. It really doesn't get any better! I could see that served at one of the hip (not hipster, but that too unfortunately) burger joints like we have here... or a dockside seafood restaurant. Bravo! The star of the show!

Beef was harder, I like juicy burgers and some looked overcooked or cooked well temperature-wise but dry, or dense. Some killer burgers though. I looked at ingredients to check out what y'all did creatively and tried to put that aside, but when I found the one that spoke to me, I looked again and it was juicy! So there it was the whole time hidden behind yellow-tinted pictures. It doesn't pop out at you but once you read it, and put on your special glasses that remove yellow ;) you see the genius in this burger.

It's all breakfast flavors, but for dinner (since it's not a pork sausage patty). First, the patty. Usually don't like anything in mine but what you added here, egg, garlic powder, S&P, gives a hint of breakfast sausage and complements everything else you did. Jalapeno bacon, country ham cooked in bacon fat, hand-mixed maple dijon mustard (hell yeah sounds good), melty melty cheddar, red jalapenos, and a perfect over easy egg on top. Grilled and juicy as hell, that's how I like my patty even if I can't see the true color. Honestly, this burger rocks and won't get the fairest of shakes from the pics, but well done!

Hats off to everyone! These all had something great or original. I hope everyone had fun making them.

I eyed yours because it looked classic. I could have easily gone classic. Far from classic... curry spice, cappuccino spice, cinnamon sugar, pepper flakes, duck fat, worcestershire, chipotle... unfortunately I would have to taste that in person to see if I dug it. Execution-wise it looked great and you would never know that was sous vide! So that's not why I stopped eyeing it, I just couldn't wrap my mind around those flavor combos. It looks like a great burger.

Consider me sold on the sous vide. At least to try a bite.

----Whiskey coffee spice too, damn. ;)

It was weird ... I took out a pouch of new-to-me SF seasonings and rubs (there's 5x or 6x of them in there), and tasted them each on my finger tip ... and then I mixed a little w/ the coffee grounds and the curry one just tasted good.

In my head the dialogue was like, "Nobody is going to get this ... but I'm using the sous vide, anyways, so popularity is pretty much out of the question" ...

In the end, though ... it wasn't even really a factor to be honest ... there wasn't enough, and I think it mostly went into the duck fat and blood (which got dumped out of the bag in this case, I good reason to dump the contents into a CI pan and sear it w/ the juices, certainly) ...

So, I'll be honest ... the cook was great ... the doneness was spot on (I wanted Medium so the bun wouldn't look like a tamponade) ... but ... and there's a but ...

The next day when PK posted his food ... and I saw the flame, I was all like "man ... a flame-grilled burger sounds AWESOME ..."  =)

I then thought about all the grey puck burgers w/ great Kingsford briquet taste from all throughout my life ...

I may sous vide another burger, but if I don't sear it in hot CI w/ the bag juices, I would most likely reverse-sear it over a chimney or over the vortex mini ...

I found the answer to my leaning in TB's griddle vs flame-grilled ... and I fall on the flame-grilled side for burgers ...

I'll keep my sous vide filet mignon all day over flame-grilled, but my burgers will see some time over briquets most of the time, I'm thinking ...
* hWhiskey note: On the double the nose was present, but after being refrigerated, the aromatics of the hWhiskey were no longer present in the revival burger - the single ...

I voted for the 2 burgers that I liked best/wanted to eat most - my patty melt and Ozzy's tuna burger.  I went into this TD thinking a lot of you were going to go the egg/bacon/high stack type burger and that's not my thing.  (no offense to you tower of power burger making/eating folks!)  Ozzy's thinking outside the bun with beautiful yellow fin and the rice; just really creative and well executed.  MM said 'I won't win' in his first post but then he proceeded to turn out some amazing entries.

Really there were no bunk entries this time around.  Voting is going to be close.  Truth is, I'd have been blessed and entirely happy to have been over for dinner at any of your houses this past weekend.  You guys are putting up some damn good eats and I'm proud to have been a part.  :)

Yep....MM straight ticket....Booma gets an honorable mention.....(and mine wasn't too shabby either! ;))

Fantastic entries, all!!!

....but he nailed it. Well done!....or rather.....good job! :P

Great job all, if my kid wasn't sick I would not have ruined my damn burgers!

Musky's cheese curds and juicy looking patty pushed my buttons for the beef burger, and Paulky got my vote for the blend. Looked tasty, gooey, cheesy, burgery. Lots of great sandwiches on here!

Muchas Gracias!!
