Wild in Las Vegas 2014 (Hardening off and flowers!!)

So now it's time to make another attempt and hope for a better year.

I didn't want to make a glog this year... but I see many already started. That motivates me to make a glog.

2013 was a year for learning and making mistakes and mostly experiments. Needless to say I found and learned a lot and I know this year is gonna rock!

So let's get started with some pics, and I'll update with th list later today and I'll be visiting glogs in a short while ;) and here's to 2014!!!

Thanks for stopping by

CAP 501 is a great little pepper.

Well I haven't tasted any yet, but I say so far all of the ones I have growing are interesting. I'm really looking forward to your hybrid and the cobincho which at one point they called it capsicum exile? I've read mixed info on it, but I'd just call it a chacoense.

Here's the cobincho.

Looking great, Walt.  Some very unusual varieties you are having
success with.  Can't wait to see the Summer pics when they are
all grown up and setting pods!

Thanks Paul! I need to update my list again. Taking some out and adding some more.

I'm gonna be germinating one last round of seed. All wild annum, a few chinense, and re sow a few that died off and some that didn't germinate.

Pube update tomorrow. I have:

-Rocoto Guatemalan orange.
-Rocoto red (store pods)
-Rocoto canario.
-And 2 I mixed up. (Lol)

Stay tuned.

Ok pube update... had a tough weekend. Family problems and the in-laws are in fml... that aside now.

I'm getting most of rocotos germinate after I cooked about 40% of the seed. My mistake, I put the jiffy tray on top of the T5's for "some" heat. The thing is that I actually took the tray down and just left it abandoned, and gave up on it. Well a few days later I went to check the tray. Ok I was curious to see if any popped. Well I had like 3... next couple of days more and today I can see more hook. I have too many now LOL. Ok pics :D.

Rocoto Guatemalan Orange

Rocoto red showing primaries (store pods).

Rocoto Canario.

Store manzano.

Mystery (can't remember and accidentally mixed them LOL)

Rocoto Costa Rican yellow.

Bring on the fuzz LMAO. these are only a few I'll take group shots when I get the chance.

healthy looking seedlings, rocoto seeds are tough and can stand a bit of heat it seems :)
Yes they really do, it's amazing how they hold well. No helmet heads either so I don't know what's it like ;). Thanks for stopping by.

Your rocoto harvests and variety is always at legendary level. I love the way your terrace is set up.

Walt, your package should arrive on Friday... The latest Saturday, hope they grow well for you...
Thanks Portuge! I'm getting yours ready as I type this and need to pack up the train too. All will ship tomorrow morning  .

Do you have pics of the blue mystery from Judy? I couldn't help it LOL, I'm putting down seed for that one :D.

Hey Walt go to post #166 in the Whats your favorite wilds thread... Found the pic of the Blue mystery flower i had put up last year...
Thanks Portuge! I just checked it out and looks odd. I seen pics where the leaves are roundish like an Eximium. Flowers somehow resemble eximium/praetermissum, but the fruit looks praetermissum.

Look at all them pubes!!! You need to trim that up!
Lol Shane! If I buy razors for each one it would get expensive and fast! :D.

Awesome story, Walt, and really great little set of
pubescent seedlings!  Kudos \o_ buddy!
Thanks Paul! Let's see how they do in my weather but some with get exposed and some will remain indoors to insure survival LOL. I want rocotos real bad :D.

UUpdate time.

Ok, time for a wild update. I'm very impressed by how well they're doing under the LEDs. I still haven't had time to assemble a bigger unit, but for now it's ok.

Here's how they're doing, and by the rate they're growing I'll be able to update more often ;).

Cumari pollux (Spicegeist)

Tepin X 7 pot barrackpore F2. (Spicegeist)

CAP 501 x Donne sali F1. (Spicegeist)

CAP 501. (Judy)

CGN 24332, one of my most healthiest plants. I love this one and can't for flowers and pods.

CGN 19198, finally stretching more and growing faster ;).

CGN 19198 also. This one was small and stunted and dropped most leaves but after I put it under LED it's now taking of like a rocket :D.

I have more to say and more pics. Bump anyone? Lol.

Thanks for stopping by.
