Volunteer not Capucinno Chiltepin. Lots of berries
getting their color on. Lots of the larger leaves have
dropped off. Twiggy growth habit.

Volunteer Pequin Rojo 'Chihuahua'. Has grown true
to the parent plant. Productive but a bit slower to ripen
up the berries than the parent.

Wild Brazil 203 Baccatum Baccatum has started to produce.. Maybe a day early, but I was tired of waiting.
Same flavor as the Bird Aji, but maybe not quite as hot.. Very similar though. The Bird Aji definitely has a softer feel to it than these do, more mushy. I was able to cut the flesh around the seeds and pop it off the heart, like you would an avocado. The heat is definitely all in the pith on these, and none at all in the skin.

At about 3 dozen seeds, like the Bird Aji, this pepper doesn't seem to meet the requirements of Baccatum v. Baccatum according to the Monograph.. Is this just because they are a cultivated wild? Symptomatic of some loss of genetic purity? Or is the Monograph maybe off? 🤔

Meanwhile, my biggest C.tovarii outside is still clinging on to all those green berries. Surely red ones soon 😟
As if by magic the first one has now appeared. The plant just seems to be a machine and is in constant flower mode. It's handled the summer extremes and the cooler nights with no issues. Even now in late October it's the healthiest looking plant in the garden along with the C.flexuosum plants.

Nice lanceolatum, @leo72.

I have one that has had a tough childhood. Poor root
development to begin with causing stunted growth,
then dug up twice by squirrels. Finally got it to take
hold in a #2 nursery pot. Brought in out of the weather
last week, a little drippy for some reason. Doesn't really
seem to like sun much. It should do better under the
grow lights. Plant will be six months old on Nov. 7
