Cheers

Tried that with nephews and my son last year. After showing them how to do it and which ones to pick (took about 5mins) they only spent another 5mins picking and then got bored!

That's what the lolly jar is for.

What does the OP stand for in
OP White Habalokia
OP Peach Habalokia
OP Yellow Habalokia
OP Peach Scorpanero ?

its about 25 cms still, thats from the top, was over 4 feet before pruning! first time i have overwintered, dont know really what im doing, but leaves are growing back! =)

Welcome Mitch ... hope you enjoy your time here ....

I am pretty gutted right now ... no luck with any further germination and I have actually had to chuck a whole bunch of Jiffy Pellets out due to the seed rotting. Keep in mind these were from the early seeds I put down which spent a long time in less then ideal conditions (ie too cold) and then placed in the propagator might have been just too much for them.

I decided to chuck my entire scotch bonnet lot away (all or mostly rotten and unknown if they were viable to start with as they were old seeds) And 2 other Jiffy pellets with suspect mouldy seed also went!!

I am usually known as a bit of a green thumb but these Chinense var. Seeds are starting to get on top of me!!

Anyway with the scrapped jiffy pellets freeing up some room. I have decided to soak a bunch more seeds (in chamomile tea) of some other varieties for 24 hours and to see if they have more luck placed straight into the Propagator.

So In Go Some:

Choc Bhut's
Yellow 7 Pot/Pod
Explosive Ember
Cheiro Do Norte
Black Prince
Ball Chilli

Seeds... lets hope for more luck on these!! I should have I think ... (Trying to stay positive!!)

Well personally Candice I wouldn't be bothering with the Broome Pepper unless it is to have something from WA :) Unusual shape pretty good heat but pretty bland to me.
Also the Peter peppers are pretty bland too and alot don't have that look. It's so hard putting together your growlist for the season!
Hey I noticed Bhut White on your list. Have you managed to get some seeds?

Micca

Yeah nice list Wildfire ... I would love that list of seeds ...

If Only I could get something I already have to Germinate!!!

So Far I have Germinated and up and growing:

2 x Aji Lemon's
2 x Super Chilli's (which I have placed in the same pot due to one looking less vigorous and a little mutant)
1 x Numex Twilight
1 x Bonda Ma Jacques

Not the best strike rate ... Still early days though I hope I can get every variety I want to grow up and germinated by the 30th July (will that give me enough time for the longer varieties on the gold coast??)

Thanks for suggestions guys

Broome Pepper I have grown before and just thought it would be good to save seeds to have for sale for an Aus variety but yeah might consider leaving it. Red Peter Peppers I grow have come out very good looking will post some pics soon.
White Bhut I will be gewtting in a few weeks.

Mitch- The Bih Jolokia have grown before, not too interested in it as have some good producing bhuts already, plus I think sometimes people just call it that when really its a bhut.

Good luck with the Naga Mitch. You probably could've left some more branches on, but its a learning experience.

Trippa you are sounding like me now. Stay positive, just think they were probably all stuffed from before you put them in the propagator so you should have more luck now, plus there are a few easier varieties you have germinating too.
If they are all rotting make sure you aren't keeping the jiffy's too wet.

I'm about to throw out my hydro plants and the second lot I had germinating due to suspect bacterial leaf rot. The biggest plant at the back is going crazy and so bushy it is going to be really hard to throw that one out. It hasn't shown any signs of the bacterial rot yet but since all the pots are connected and being watered with the same tank I know it is only a matter of time.

Back plant. Chilli Focus bottle is there for size comparison. It is a 1L.

Throwing out plants sucks big time. I can't even bear to thin out seedlings. When the new ones have to go outside I know I'm going to have a hard time clearing out the greenhouse.

I like your black ones Trippa. Have grown some and they look good in the garden.

Numex Twilight and Bolivian Rainbow bring some colour in too Candice you should plant those ones.

Just found an old Big Jim pod I had put on the fridge to dry and forgot about. It had about a hand full of seeds in it!! I thought I had run out of those seeds for this season.

YEP! That's why I usually only sow 1 seed per pot because I dont want to throw any out. Have just turned the system off and taken the first pot out. Put it on the ground and had to walk away before I rip it... need to muster up the courage first! Its so sad especially when they are so big :(

Am going to have one garden bed dedicated to ornamentals if I have the room after deciding what to keep. Have always wanted to but the others always took first priority and ornamentals I just kept in pots. Would be nice to have out the front for some colour. Haven't grown those 2 before so thanks for your opinion.

if you have no luck with germinating them I found some in my collection. Was going to grow it but cut that off just cos it's not hot. Maybe next year.

Same story here, mate. I just went to town on a whole bunch of my plants from last season and a couple weeks later, most started shooting new leaves.

Although, I've actually since had to toss most of 'em to make room for new plants I will be growing this season (can never help myself and ALWAYS get carried away sourcing new varieties!)

I reckon it's because it is winter - and regardless of how well you simulate spring/summer in the box, the seeds still know it's winter! ;)

Seriously, one thing I've never had troubles with is germinating seeds - until now, trying to do it in winter. :(

I actually feel guilty having to thin out!

I really don't envy your situation, Candice.... :(

I was dreaming of crossing a Big Jim with a Trinidad Scopion Butch T (Just got some seeds in the mail thanks Nova :woohoo: )

So even if I got a massive pod with insane heat or a stinger pod with very little heat it would be a marketing success :D
