Yes.  Boots can easily cost $500.  Why the hell would you need drywall stilts to go hunting?

And if your gonna try to blend in with your surroundings at least buy the right color camo guys.

Another two that grinds my gears: Backhanded compliments and passive-aggressive conversations, especially from family members.

Called my mom this morning, and told her my buddy (who I've known for 24 years of my life) and I have been doing some gaming the last few days since the new World of Warcraft expansion was released Thursday. He lives up north in the same town we both lived in and went to school at, and decided to stay there, whereas I moved to Florida back in '94. I told her he finally got married not too long ago and now has a young son. She was "surprised" and made a rather snide comment that he "finally decided to get a life" (bear in mind he's the closest thing to a brother I ever had growing up) and she thought that like me, he was "married to those video games" he and I both liked so much growing up and continued to do into adulthood because it's quite frankly what we enjoyed doing.

I could read between the lines of what my mom was saying that it was a passive-aggressive condemnation of what he and I both enjoyed doing, and what helped us relax and unwind after a tough day of IT work (he's a software programmer for a private company up yonder). Made my blood boil to be honest...

What really grinds my gears is viewing this thread while i'm eating something spicy...

...hazardous to my health...seriously, i was swallowing this soup, got to the picture of two very foxy ladies on stilts...

Alas, my sinuses may never recover.

I'm an optimist who believes in a parallel universe where everything is just a bit kinder, a little more merciful.

In that sweeter realm of existence, a gentler and less cruel Scoville merely forced me, at gunpoint, to snort drain-cleaner.
