off-topic You know what really grinds my gears?!?

Your former friend from page 3 hey? Some people don't realize that there are others that are in a far worse situation than they are.

A good friend of mine has had several significant surgeries to correct issues he's had with his hips. Yet he has taken it like a champ, and always done his rehab without complaint.

You want to know what REALLY burns my ass???

What grinds my gears? efing HOA boards. I utterly hate those control boards. Screw someone else telling me what do do with my property. I will NEVER buy another home that has an HOA EVER! These are efing pigs and are loser wanna be control freaks. These types have nothing better to do than to go around and look for problems. They don't stop at real issues, but delve always into what is none of their business, and into opinions. i can't stand useless control freaks who should all be put together into the same place and let them all fight it out, and irritate each other.

One and the same. She even had a job interview for the Miami Dolphins' Football Team's front office, one which offered quite a bit of money and some amazing benefits, which many native Floridians would envy, and she was pissed off because she found out she'd be the secretary for not one, but two of the team's executive Vice Presidents. She honestly expected them to double the salary since it was for two VP's instead of just one. Bear in mind, she'd be struggling without a job for several months, and was behind on every single bill (and relying on the charity of others), after she quit a succession of jobs that were fairly well paying, but ones in which people hated her and her attitude. Oh yeah, and she got a supreme butthurt when the VP's made her wait all of 15 minutes past the scheduled interview start-time because they had a major meeting go a little long, one that apparently involved some major decisions worth millions of dollars to the franchise. She wrote a very angry letter to them for that. Let's just say she didn't get the job...

Aaron, I've heard that from every person I know who's in a condo. Like, dozens of times.
Yeah, that is because you always will have these no good loser people out here whose life is crappy, and cannot find anything better to do than to play God and boss others around. Problem is people forget who they work for. These knuckleheads work for me, the homeowner; I don't work for them. I have to remind them every now and then about reality. I am lucky to live in a community of only 28 homes. Because its so small, its easy to get to know your neighbors and to make them aware of whats going on, and aware of what they can do legally which I have done. You can boot out trouble makers, but the larger the community, the harder it is to get the votes needed to do so. All of this is just annoying to me, and thus we are in the process of moving out. NO more HOAs for me.

*Edit* Did I mention how utterly stupid they are managing our money? i am getting out now, before the costs increases come rolling in.

People that think asking me to work on my days off in exchange for beer is a good idea.

I don't mind helping people out, but c'mon man!

Them: "Can you come over next Saturday and Sunday to help me build a garage? I'll cook you lunch and provide all the beer you can drink! I can even get a few other buddies to come and help too. How does that sound?"

Translation: "Can you work extra late on Friday to pack up all your tools and equipment and drag it over to my house? Then wake up early on your day off and frame up a garage for me while me and a few buddies that have no idea what we're doing stand around and drink beer while watching you work your ass off? Then do the same thing on Sunday, and then get up an hour early on Monday to get your tools and equipment set back up on your job that actually pays? I'll give you a few beers and a burger for your time! How does that sound?

Me: "I would, but I can't drink $2000 worth of beer in one weekend."

Translation: "Really?? Go fuck yourself!"

This. As I've mentioned before, I've lost count of the number of times people have asked me to come over to fix their computer issues, either for free, or for a cost that wouldn't even begin to cover my gas, thinking it'll be something that takes two minutes, but winds up taking several hours. Then they suddenly get a case of the "Oh by the way"-itis... I had a lady from my job want me to build a computer for them on a budget, and the lowest I could quote her just for the parts she needed to do what she wanted was $500 (labor and software was extra), and she said it was too expensive, then got a computer at Best Buy for $600, only to discover a month in, it was woefully inadequate for what she wanted to do. I gave her the following analogy... Don't buy a barebones Prius and expect it to handle the work of an upgraded 18-Wheeler....

I 'LIKE-bombed' the shit out of this one Musky! Holy crap, we must know the same people.

That said, I haven't "helped" a friend in years. Me and SalsaLady trade / help each other out tho, which reminds me dammit, I need to get up on her roof. Shit, now that I think about it, I am way behind on the "trade" part of that equation. I hope that doesn't really grind her gears. LOL She has hooked me up (literally, she's an electrician) tons of times.

When somebody puts the $ and effort into growing and processing plants(6-8 months),makes a killer product(time and effort)then posts a giveaway and pays shipping to boot, and people just post their numerical guess and can't type thank you. Seriously, how long would that take? You don't even have to mean it.....just fucking do it! Hah

Just the other day a bum asked me for spare change while taking a cigarette out of a fresh pack and lighting it. I told him if he can afford to buy a $9 pack of smokes he must not be that hungry.

I've also pulled over and tried to pick up bums with "will work for food" signs several times years ago. Guess how many got in my truck when I offered them work? Yep. Zero.

Another time I was walking into a bar when a bum outside asked me for spare change. I dug in my pocket and gave him a dime (the only spare change I had). He looked at it with disgust and said "A DIME?? YOU'RE GOING TO A BAR AND ALL YOU CAN GIVE ME IS A FUCKING DIME?" Then he put the dime in his pocket while shaking his head. It absolutely infuriated me. I told him to give me my dime back, and he looked at me like I was crazy. I told him again to give me back my dime before I took it back whether he liked it or not. He gave me my dime back.

I know some good people fall on hard times, but lazy POS bums really grind my gears.

For real that shit is annoying! I see bums standing all day on the corner in the middle of a Texas summer begging for money. If your healthy enough to stand all day in 100 degree heat, your healthy enough to get a damn job. Also what pisses me off is the same bum coming to you with the same BS story and not even remembering you already told them to F**k off.

Or standing in the hot sun with a cardboard sign and two poor panting dogs on a leash. If you can't take care of yourself, why the fuck do you have dogs? So people feel bad and give you money? I want to slap the shit out of them and take their dogs.
