    food Mussels over Fettuccine

Maybe it is a dumb question, but isn't it difficult to eat the noodles when they are covered by all those shells?

chinense the debate about the reaper and primo

I was joking. I just thought that it would be fun to be the first to suggest that if the Primo and the Reaper are the same, that maybe the Primo should change its name.   As a nickname, Primo is very generic. It is Spanish for cousin.   Maybe it would be different if I had children.

chinense the debate about the reaper and primo

The name Carolina Reaper sounds better than Primo. If they really are the same, why don't we just call them all Reapers instead of Primo?

any suggestions on a sauce for french fries?

Maybe someone should come up with a version of what Wendy's ghost pepper fries should have been: something with real ghost pepper, and more.

Is this what I can look forward to from growing entirely indoors, when I finally do get pods?

I really was expecting to read about spiced soap, just to find out why it should have cabbage in it.

    Note to self

The reason I want the extracts with the excessively high SHUs is so that I can get used to eating foods with them. It has been a long time since I thought a jalapeño was hot. I want ghost peppers to be my new jalapeño.

How did you get to be so smart? This idea is brilliant.

    Note to self

Instead of multiple hand washes, maybe you should soak your hands in milk for a couple minutes.   I want to try that 6 million SHU stuff. Or higher. When I get the chance I'm totally buying some.

baking Want to add alcohol to a bread recipe

Would it be crazy to use chicken broth instead of water in a recipe for bread? And maybe a few ingredients like oregano, parsley, garlic, and onion, and anything else that would be used to enhance a chicken broth?

baking Want to add alcohol to a bread recipe

I think your best bet is to wait and make a bread pudding with the whiskey. Unfortunately, I don't know what a bread pudding actually is. It is something they make on those cooking shows and it starts with some bread. They add other ingredients to it.

Does anyone make mole? (chocolate and pepper sauce, sweet and spicy)

Recently I bought a jar of mole and it wasn't very satisfying. I missed the instruction to add hot water and the next time I used too much. I was thinking it would be better to make it at home rather than buying it, if it is easy to make. I definitely like it on the sweet side so I want to use...

flowers transitioning to pods ... please describe

There were two plants, but my neighbors killed one and I brought the other inside. I have seed for Carolina Reaper now - thanks, Ajdrew - and in the beginning of December I plan to buy seed for two other kinds. I was hoping to get more ghost pepper seeds from pods grown in my own kitchen.   So...

flowers transitioning to pods ... please describe

Would someone please describe how flowers turn to pods? What do the flowers do when they are pollinated? How long does it take? I am watching my indoor ghost pepper plant. I have plenty of flowers now, but the first of them started dropping off today. Flowers are good and I had been looking...

This guy eats 5lbs of peppers a day

http://www.calorieking.com/foods/calories-in-fresh-or-dried-vegetables-hot-red-chili-peppers-raw_f-ZmlkPTEyMzc0OQ.html   It says for raw hot red chili peppers, 80 ounces is 907 calories. Yes, that's 5 pounds. In jalapeños, only 658 calories.   In any case, he has to eat normal food also...

    Favorite Cooking Shows?

On an episode of Chopped, it was firefighters. One of the basket ingredients was ghost peppers. Gloves and safety glasses were provided for the chefs. One of them added pieces of pepper to a cream based sauce, and I was fascinated because I had heard that this pepper was so hot that you don't...

another first time grower with a ghost pepper plant

It has been too long to be sure since I saw them, but they did look like chocolate ghosts if I remember correctly. I wish I had bought them so I could taste the difference. It isn't often that the grocery has any ghost peppers or scorpions. Back then I hadn't even heard of chocolate ghost peppers.

another first time grower with a ghost pepper plant

If I had that many plants I would ask some of my local grocery stores if they would be interested in taking in some potted plants to store in produce. They could sell their own ghost peppers and not have as many supply issues. They order ghost peppers and it takes less than two weeks for the...
